Motorcycle Crash Claims Life Of Coarsegold Man

MADERA COUNTY – A Coarsegold man lost his life yesterday when he crashed his motorcycle on Highway 41 just north of the 22 Mile House.

Michael Rhett Lari, 56, was northbound on Highway 41 on a 2007 Harley Davidson at about 7:28 p.m. at an estimated speed of 60 mph when, for unknown reasons, he allowed the bike to veer to the right and off the roadway.

The motorcycle went up the dirt and rock embankment and the driver was ejected. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 41 was closed in both directions for about 45 minutes, then was one-lane traffic control was put in place for the next few hours.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the accident.
