COARSEGOLD – A young man from Coarsegold has died as a result of a motorcycle accident on Highway 41.
On Thursday, Apr. 30, just after 7:30 p.m., the 19-year-old was northbound on Highway 41 just south of Coyote Hollow Lane on a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle, according to CHP.
As he approached Coyote Hollow Lane, he attempted to make a left turn, but due to what CHP described as his high rate of speed, he failed to negotiate the turn, lost control and crashed into a tree.
He was ejected from the bike and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of relatives.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation.
