OAKHURST – Failure to merge properly at the bottom of Deadwood resulted in front end damage to one driver’s vehicle.
Ellen Klein, 83, of Coarsegold was southbound in a 2005 Toyota Camry, approaching the end of the double lanes near Road 425C on Monday, Apr. 1.Klein was in the left lane, and a truck owned by Praxair out of Fresno, was in the right lane, also southbound at the same location.
According to CHP, Klein was attempting to pass the truck before the right lane ended, but realized she didn’t have enough time to complete the pass, and slowed down.
The Praxair truck was right next to her, and as the lanes merged, the right front of Klein’s Toyota came into contact with the truck, damaging the bumper and right quarter panel.
No one was hurt in the incident, and there was no damage to the Praxaire truck.
