By Claudia Sanchez and Natasha Lucas —

MOUNTAIN AREA — Hope For The Homeless is Senior Legacy Experience (SLE) by Minarets students Claudia Sanchez and Tally Scott, who hope to help many people this holiday season by gathering an assortment of items that will distributed after Christmas. Items sought are warm clothing, including socks and gloves.

There are boxes covered in wrapping paper at Minarets High School in O’Neals. the Kwik Serve gas station in Coarsegold, Back 2 Basics Clothing in Oakhurst, Lady of the Sierra Church in Oakhurst, and Central Valley Truck Center in Fresno. If you would like to get involved in any way, please call (559) 676-7871.

Boxes will be picked up on January 1, 2017, and will be distributed to homeless people in both the Coarsegold and Oakhurst communities. They will be given warm clothing to start off the new year with. We hope to have enough supplies to donate to everyone in need of warm clothes.

You may want to help by donating items to Hope For The Homeless,  an opportunity to help with the pressing need by donating warm items.
