Minarets FFA Honored At Sectional Awards

O’NEALS — Within the FFA there are many degrees and awards that not only high school members, but administrators can get as well. There are so many community members and Chawanakee District staff that help and dedicate their time to the Minarets FFA program. On Thursday Apr. 5, ten FFA members and five staff members, along with their parents and family, attended the East Fresno Madera Sectional Awards Banquet to have their degrees and achievements bestowed upon them.

In order to receive a state degree, a member must complete a Supervised Agricultural Experience Project consisting of 500 hours, investing $1,000 in their project and obtaining numerous community service hours. That night juniors Michael Rezendes, Natalie Anselmo, Katie Linderholm, Regan Fringer, Lauren Bliss, Luke Batty, Garrett Alford, and Dilan Basila, seniors Fallon Ferguson, and Lily Lopez walked across the stage to be recognized.

In the area of Star Awards, Mrs. Kristi Mattes, Ms. Jessica Sweet, Ms. Keeley Hall, and Mr. Richard Chapman got Star Advisor, Mrs. Jessica Chacon received Star Counselor, Ms. Autumn Alford received Star Supporting Staff, Dr. Daniel Ching and Mr. Patrick Wilson received Star Administrator, student Kate Hough was recognized for Star Reporter, and finally Ms. Katie Morgan for Star Teacher.

The night was filled will celebration of our school being well represented with numerous awards and degrees as our chapter continues to grow and prosper.
