Mike Reeves

My name is Mike Reeves and I’ve lived in Yosemite for over two years now. Photography is a great source of enjoyment for me, and I’ve been exploring America’s public lands all my life

.I enjoy both film and digital photography, and my cameras range from a newer, high-resolution digital camera to a vintage cherry and brass 4×5 view camera many decades older than me.

My work in Yosemite allows me to teach photography to many people, which allows me to constantly be refreshed throughout the four distinct seasons found here.

Lakeside Stillness

I especially enjoy photographing the High Sierra and tackling the challenges associated with water, whether it be a majestic high country lake or a small, slow-moving stream.

Some of my work captures the iconic beauty of Yosemite, but most spends time showing smaller, less recognizable scenes of Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. I also enjoy spending time along the California coast, photographing abandoned buildings, and photographing vintage aircraft when I have the time.

Last Light Upper Young LakeThis is the first year I will be taking my work public, and my first showing at the Mariposa County Fair yielded eight ribbons, which was a spectacular success and a wonderful surprise!

I will also be participating in Sierra Art Trails for the first time, and I hope I can get to meet many of the local residents and business owners.

Those looking for my work can find me on Facebook and Google Plus under “Mike Reeves Photography” and current work is found on www.mikereevesphotography.com

  1. Great shots, great bio! Best of luck during Art Trails. Out of 108 artists, this year’s exhibit features over 30 photographers, working both traditional and with new innovative processes. Cool!

  2. Beautiful photos and thank you for sharing!
