Meet Photographer Michael Olwyler At Public Coffee House

Written by Cassandra Hepburn-Callis –

NORTH FORK – Michael Olwyler will be showcasing his photos from his travels around the world called “Steward the Enviroment for Children” at Public Coffee House on Tuesday, Apr. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Michael Olwyler has been a steward of the environment in the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, and for international training programs on six continents. His photography connects with people in their environment, and children in particular have been one of his interests.

The April show will feature a set of photographs that looks at children around the world as represented by those in Asia – Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia.

In Michael’s words, “We must steward the environment for the children of the world. So, visualize each of your own actions to see what impacts they will have on the environment and find small ways to reduce the harm they might cause.

“Your impacts on the environment will affect children everywhere who may lose their seaside homes as oceans rise, their wildlife as we over-fish and over-hunt, their air as we drive and use more electricity than we need to.”

You can be a steward of the environment for the children!

And for a limited time you are invited to see the world in the children’s eyes in the masterful photos of Michael Olwyler at Public Coffee House this spring.

Mr. Olwyler has also decided to give back to the community by donating 20 percent of all sales to Public Coffee House Ministries. So come by say hello to our own local international traveler and photographer on Tuesday and purchase a piece of his international photos for a gift or for yourself.

Public Coffee House is located at 33023 Road 222 in downtown North Fork.
