Maxine Louise Brogdon – March 19, 1929 – October 3, 2018

Maxine Louise Brogdon, nee Kindall, was born in Ontario, Oregon on March 19, 1929 to parents John Thomas Kindall and Lucile May Kindall. She was the second child, born one year and one day after her brother Harold.

She passed away peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Brogdon in Oakhurst, Calif., with family by her side on Oct. 3, 2018.

Maxine was raised in the Assembly of God church by her missionary parents, and was devoted to her Lord and Savior her entire life. She married Amon (Bill) Brogdon on Dec. 31, 1950. Bill and Maxine were married 59 years until his passing in 2010. Maxine has missed Bill so very much these past eight years, and it brings great comfort to her children that they are reunited.

Max, as she was affectionately known by her coworkers, retired from the pharmacy at Kaiser Hospital in San Jose, Calif., after 20-plus years. In retirement, she and our father enjoyed the 5th wheel they had bought and traveled in many times to visit family in Boise, Idaho.

Second only to Mom’s love of God and family was her love of cats. She was happiest with a cat on her lap (whom she usually named Babe!) Mom was the sweetest, kindest woman, loved and cherished by all who knew her.

Maxine is survived by her children – Mike, John, Julene, Gary, Sue and their respective spouses Renee, Terri, Louis, Judy and Benny. She also leaves behind her 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and her cat, Babe.

At Mom’s request there will be a graveside service for family only, at a date to be determined.
