Mandatory Evacuation Order Lifted In North Fork

NORTH FORK – Residents who have been under a mandatory evacuation order on Church Street and at the Bass Lake Mobile Home Park in North Fork are being allowed to return home.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the order, saying County agencies have been out to evaluate homes impacted by the flood.

If you were not contacted, your home is safe to reoccupy. Please check your residence yourself especially propane, electric, and water connections. County Environmental Health recommends flushing water lines before drinking.

The evacuation warning is still in effect for those areas and the following areas:

  • Road 222 between Railroad Grade Road and Road 200
  • Road 226 between Keller Road and Road 222
  • Manzanita Lake Drive
  • Old Central Camp Road between Road 222 and ½ of a mile west of Road 274
  • Road 225 between Road 222 and Road 274
  • Road 228
  • Wah-up Way
  • Kunigib Way
  • Amber Lane
  • Weatherly Lane

The Sheriff’s Office warns everyone to be aware of rising water levels and evaluate your conditions. If you feel the need to evacuate, please do so. Residents in these area should still be prepared to immediately evacuate at a moments notice. Have personal affects packed and be ready for in case of another evacuation order.
