Madera Sheriff’s Office Mourns Loss Of Chuck Reiring

MADERA COUNTY — It’s with a heavy heart that Sheriff Jay Varney announces the passing of Retired Sergeant Chuck Reiring.

Sgt. Reiring started as a reserve deputy with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office in 1971 before being hired as full time Deputy Sheriff in 1975.

Chuck Reiring Trading Card - courtesy Madera Co. SheriffDuring his 32 years with the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Reiring worked as a Jailer, a Chowchilla Area Deputy, and Valley Patrol Watch Commander.

He also served as a K9 Handler with “Skipper,” and as a member of the Search and Rescue Dive Team, and the TAC team.

Chuck Reiring with child - photo courtesy Madera Co. SheriffOther assignments Sgt. Retiring held include Reserve Deputy Liaison, and Sheriff’s System Administrator. After retiring from the Sheriff’s Office in 2003, he worked for the Madera County Information Technology Department.

Sgt. Reiring is survived by his wife Joyce, daughter Kari and her husband Patrick Lauver, son Chuck Jr. and his wife Angie Reiring, daughter Kathy Reiring, mother Hermine Reiring, brother Ron Reiring, sister Dianna Reiring, eight grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews, and nine great-nieces and nephews.
