Madera County’s Sheriff’s Log Through September 2, 2019

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office reports taken locally from Tuesday, August 27, to Monday, September 2, 2019.

Oakhurst Coroner’s Report
On Tuesday, August 27, at 3:48 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst regarding a deceased individual at a residence. A report was forwarded to Madera County Deputy Coroner Office for review.

North Fork Aggravated Assault
On Wednesday, August 28, at 7:46 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to North Fork regarding an aggravated assault. Report to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Coarsegold Motor Vehicle Stop and Arrest
On Wednesday, August 28, at 10:37 a.m., the Madera Sheriff’s POP Team was conducting warrant services and saturation in the mountain division. A traffic stop was conducted in the town of Coarsegold. The passenger of the vehicle was subsequently arrested for obstruction and a felony warrant out of Madera County. They were transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation and released on scene. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst Narcotics Citation
On Wednesday, August 28, at 1:32 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst due to suspicious activity. Upon arrival, a person matching the description was located and found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. Person was cited and released. Evidence was collected and booked. Forwarded to DA for prosecution.

Oakhurst Missing Person
On Wednesday, August 28, at 2:52 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst regarding a voluntary missing person. An investigation was conducted and report written.

Ahwahnee General Incident
On Wednesday, August 28, at 3:52 p.m., a deputy responded to Ahwahnee regarding a 911 call with shouts heard in the background. Upon arrival, the deputy contacted the individual who reported a family disturbance. Parties had conflicting statements and wanted information regarding restraining orders and evictions. Report written for documentation.

Oakhurst General Incident
On Wednesday, August 28, at 4:47 p.m., a cadet was dispatched to the Oakhurst Substation regarding a general incident. Recommend case to be suspended. Report was taken for documentation.

Oakhurst Burglary 
On Wednesday, August 28, at 5:41 p.m., a cadet was dispatched to Oakhurst regarding a burglary. Recommend case to remain open and forward to detectives for follow up.

Oakhurst Narcotics Paraphernalia Possession and Misdemeanor Arrest
On Wednesday, August 28, at 7:47 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Oakhurst on a vehicle that had no license plates. The male driver was found to have two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the Madera DOC.

Oakhurst Simple Assault 
On Wednesday, August 28, at 11:01 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Oakhurst for a report of a domestic disturbance. The male suspect was arrested and booked into Madera DOC for domestic violence and for child endangerment.

Oakhurst General Incident
On Thursday, August 29, at 6:39 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst to assist other deputies on a suspicious persons call. During the call one of the subjects made suicidal statements. The subject was placed on a hold and transported to the hospital for care.

Oakhurst Trespassing
On Thursday, August 29, at 4:42 a.m., a deputy checked the 49000 block of Chapel Hill Drive where some condemned residences are located. A female and a 3-year-old juvenile was located inside of the residence. The 3-year-old juvenile was placed on a 300 W&I hold and placed into the custody of Madera County CPS.

Oakhurst Family Disturbance
On Thursday, August 29, at 3:07 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst for a family disturbance. It was learned that a vandalism had occurred but the victim declined to press charges. Report written for documentation.

Oakhurst Juvenile Runaway
On Thursday, August 29, at 7:16 p.m., deputies responded to Oakhurst regarding a juvenile running away from her mother. The juvenile was located in Oakhurst Park. The juvenile was taken back home and a report will be forwarded to her Probation Officer.

Coarsegold Vandalism
On Thursday, August 29, at 8:52 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Coarsegold in regards to a vandalism. An investigation was conducted and one arrest was made. Case closed.

North Fork Probation Violation Arrest
On Friday, August 30, at 12:58 a.m., a deputy responded to a report of a female stating that someone turned the power off to her residence in North Fork. A male was seen in the front yard of the residence upon arrival and ran from deputies. The male subject was located after a short foot chase and arrested for violation of probation and resisting arrest and booked into the Madera County DOC.

Oakhurst Coroner’s Report
On Friday, August 30, at 7:05 a.m., a deputy responded to Oakhurst regarding a medical assist. This incident was determined to be a coroner’s case. The case is to be forwarded to the Chief Deputy Coroner.

Oakhurst Fraud
On Friday, August 30, at 11:03 a.m., a cadet was dispatched to Oakhurst in regards to a report of a fraud. Report forwarded to the Detectives Division for further investigation.

Coarsegold Aggravated Assault
On Friday, August 30, at 4:18 p.m., deputies responded to Coarsegold to a male caller who stated he was in a fight with a female. An investigation determined that a domestic violence altercation had occurred and the suspect had left the scene. The area was searched with negative results. Report sent to DA’s office for filing of charges. Further followup to be conducted.

Oakhurst Theft
On Friday, August 30, at 6:29 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst in regards to a theft. An investigation was conducted and a suspect was identified.

Coarsegold Motor Vehicle Stop
On Friday, August 30, at 8:50 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Coarsegold on a vehicle with equipment violations. The male driver was found to be driving on a suspended license and issued a citation and released with a court date to appear.

Coarsegold Public Intoxication
On Friday, August 30, at 8:44 p.m., a deputy responded to Coarsegold in regards to an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. The female was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the Madera County Jail. A report was written and forwarded to the DA’s Office for prosecution.

Coarsegold Possible Stolen Vehicle
On Friday, August 30, at 9:35 p.m., a deputy conducted a vehicle check in Coarsegold. The vehicle had false plates and appeared to possibly be stolen. Vehicle was towed and stored until a follow-up can be done.

O’Neals Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest
On Saturday, August 31, at 8:14 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to O’Neals regarding suspicious subjects in a vehicle in the area. One adult male was arrested and booked on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst Threats Reported
On Saturday, August 31, at 8:54 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst regarding threats. An investigation was conducted and a complaint requested.

Coarsegold Narcotics Arrest
On Saturday, August 31, at 10:30 p.m., a vehicle stop was conducted in Coarsegold. A female was arrested and cited for possession of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia. A report was forwarded to Madera County DA to pursue charges.

Coarsegold Danger To Self
On Sunday, September 1, at 1:45 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Coarsegold in regards to a subject who was suicidal. An investigation was conducted and the subject was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

North Fork Restraining Order Violation and Arrest
On Sunday, September 1, at 9:11 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to North Fork regarding a juvenile walking down the road with no shoes. The juvenile was contacted and returned home. The juvenile’s stepfather was arrested for violation of a restraining order and a report was written. Forward this case to CPS for review and follow up.
