Madera County Transportation Workshops

OAKHURST — Want to help create a cleaner future in terms of public transportation in the foothills? The Madera County Transportation Commission (MCTC) and its partner agencies have been looking at ways to provide more efficient streets and highways.

They want to expand transit use, make space for bicycles and pedestrians, and link land use and transportation. It’s part of an effort to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the County by the year 2042.

The MCTC has a plan, and now, the County wants feedback from the public. Workshops for the 2018 Regional Transportation Plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) are set for Oakhurst, Madera Ranchos, Chowchilla, and Madera.

Locally, the workshop is:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at 5:30 p.m., at the Oakhurst Community Center, Pavilion Room, located at 39800 RRoad 425B

The public is encouraged to attend in order to learn more about the 2018 RTP/SCS and provide input on recommendations. MCTC says people should feel free to pass this along to family, friends, colleagues, and other interested stakeholders.
