Madera County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Cadet Candidates

MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES — The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is currently recruiting for Sheriff’s Cadet II Candidates. Prior law enforcement experience is not required.

“Our commitment to public safety doesn’t end at the water’s edge,” says a current post on MCSO’s Facebook page. “MCSO dive team members are trained to perform underwater search and rescue and/or recovery operations for both persons and property. They are a specialized and critical component of our agency.”

MCSO deputies can apply for specialty assignments — like the dive team — after their first year of employment.

Successful candidates will attend a police academy as a County-sponsored attendee — and will ideally commit to becoming a Deputy Sheriff – Basic POST with Madera County after academy graduation.

Interested applicants may apply online at:

The deadline to apply for the next cadet training academy is Wednesday (Feb. 26) at 5 p.m.
