Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through September 9

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Sept. 3, to Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018.

Coarsegold motor vehicle stop results in mental health evaluation
On Monday, Sept. 3 at 3:46 a.m. a deputy observed a vehicle traveling southbound about 25 miles per hour on CA-41 at Bellview. During a vehicle stop the deputy determined the driver was gravely disabled due to a mental condition. The driver was placed under a mental health evaluation hold and transported to a hospital for evaluation and/or treatment, via ambulance.

Coarsegold white powder substance found
On Monday, Sept. 3 at 4:54 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a small amount of a white powder substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, found at a public area of the business. No one was seen in possession of the substance. The substance was recovered and booked for destruction. This case has been closed.

Bass Lake domestic violence
On Monday, Sept. 3 at 9:13 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a domestic dispute. Report written, charges filed, and case forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office.

Coarsegold firearms stolen from residential safe
On Monday, Sept. 3 at 7:35 p.m. a deputy took a phone report in regards to a burglary that occurred in the 46000 block of Chukchansi Road. Several firearms were stolen from a safe located inside the residence. An investigation was completed and a report was written.

Coarsegold citizen concerned about marijuana
On Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 12:52 p.m. a deputy was flagged down by a concerned citizen regarding marijuana. A report was written and forwarded to detectives.

Coarsegold missing child
On Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 4:07 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of Spring Trail regarding a missing child. A report was written, and the child entered into the system. The child later was located in good health and taken out of the missing person system.

Coarsegold conspiracy report taken at possible victim’s request
On Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 2:30 p.m. a deputy received a report of threats to commit vandalism in the 46000 block of Forest Glenn Road. A resident reported that a former business associate was attempting to solicit someone to vandalize his heavy equipment. A conspiracy report was taken a the request of the victim and the investigation is on going.

Oakhurst theft
On Thursday, Sept. 6 at 9:10 a.m. deputies were dispatched to lobby traffic regarding a reported theft that occurred in the 48000 block of Victoria Lane. Deputies took the theft report and there are no current leads.

Oakhurst forgery
On Thursday, Sept. 6 at 2:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Live Oak Drive regarding a report of theft from a bank account. No leads at this time, case to be suspended.

North Fork possible child sexual assault
On Friday, Sept. 7 at 4:16 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a possible child sexual assault. A report was generated and this case will be forwarded to detectives.

Coarsegold family disturbance
On Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:57 p.m. a deputy responded regarding a family disturbance where one subject was possibly suicidal. Investigation determined that the subject was not in need of a mental health evaluation hold and no charges were desired by the family. The parties agreed to separate. Report written for documentation.

Coarsegold traffic stop results in arrest for grant theft after generator stolen
On Sunday, Sept. 9 at 12:06 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of CA-41 near Lucky Lane on a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a recent theft of a generator. The male later admitted to taking the generator and stated its location. The generator was located and returned to the original owner. The male driver was arrested and booked into Madera DOC for grand theft, possession of stolen property, violation of probation and possession of drug paraphernalia.
