Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through Jan. 27

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Jan. 21 to Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 4:12 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Civic Circle to assist California Highway Patrol. One female subject was found to have an outstanding warrant and was cited and released. Case closed.

Coarsegold resisting arrest and warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 8:17 a.m. a Madera Sheriff POP Team conducted warrant services in the mountain division. The team learned the location of a male subject with a confirmed felony warrant. Upon arrival to the location the male subject ran from deputies. A perimeter was quickly established and the subject was captured. He was transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections for the warrant and resisting arrest charges. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst dog bite
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 9:58 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Road 620 regarding a dog bite. A report was written and case closed.

Oakhurst altercation between juveniles
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at at 1:21 p.m., while on patrol on the 50000 block of School Road, a deputy was called in regards to a physical altercation involving two juveniles. A report was written and forwarded to Madera County Juvenile Probation.

Coarsegold family disturbance with disorderly conduct
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 6:46 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located regarding a report of a family disturbance. During the investigation a male was contacted outside his residence. The male had an odor of an alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. The male was angry at his family and refused to calm down. According to the family members the male did not become physically violent with anyone, but was causing a disturbance and would not calm down. The male was placed into custody for disorderly conduct in public and transported to the Madera County Jail. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Coarsegold methamphetamine found
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 5:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a report of suspected methamphetamine found on the casino floor. The suspected methamphetamine was later found to weigh 2.3 grams with packaging. The suspected methamphetamine was later booked for destruction at the Sheriff’s Oakhurst Substation. This case was closed.

Ahwahnee misusing emergency services and intoxication
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a public health call in the area of the 45000 block of Highway 49, regarding a subject who continually called 911 and would hang up. CHP dispatch transferred the call and advised the subject did this multiple times. Upon arrival deputies contacted the subject, who was extremely intoxicated. The subject refused to cooperate when he was asked to go back inside and to stop misusing 911 services. As deputies were leaving the property he began walking after them down the driveway, cursing and flipping them off. Based on his intoxication levels, deputies believed he was unable to care for himself and would continue to clog up emergency lines. The subject was arrested and transported to DOC. Case to be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Coarsegold assault and threats in family disturbance
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 9:29 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a report of a family disturbance. During the investigation the victim reported that her sister had punched her once in the face. Suddenly the sister (arrestee) began yelling in the distance from an adjacent residence on the same property. The arrestee had a shovel in her hands and was threatening to kill her sister (victim). The arrestee was seen swinging the shovel violently several times while walking toward victim and the deputy. The arrestee walked toward the victim and the deputy while making threats to kill the victim and continued swinging the shovel violently. The arrestee ignored several warnings by the deputy to stop and kept walking toward the victim in a threatening manner. The arrestee was subdued with the use of a taser and placed into custody. The victim advised she did not wish to seek prosecution. The arrestee was transported to the Madera County Jail without further incident. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charges.

Ahwahnee domestic violence
On Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 11:23 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block on CA-49 for reports of a domestic dispute between two subjects. A female was arrested for assault and intoxication. The report is to be forwarded to the DA’s office.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 11:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a domestic disturbance. A report was taken for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold welfare check on a young child
On Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 3:35 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a welfare check involving a young child. A report was taken for documentation only.

North Fork trespassing
On Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 4:10 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 in regards to a trespass in progress. The suspect was contacted and a statement was obtained.

Friant domestic violence
On Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7:47 p.m. a deputy responded in regards to a domestic disturbance. One female was arrested. Forward case for prosecution.

Oakhurst possible sexual abuse of a minor
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 2:19 a.m. a deputy was dispatched for reports of a possible sexual abuse case involving a minor. Forward the case to detectives.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 1:54 p.m. a deputy was dispatched for reports of a verbal dispute. One male subject was found to be a danger to himself and others and was placed on a mental health evaluation hold. Case closed.

North Fork report of child abuse determined to be unfounded
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 10:51 a.m. a deputy responded for a report of a possible child abuse incident. A deputy contacted the mother and child by phone, interviewed both parties and determined that the child abuse claim was unfounded. A general incident report was written.

North Fork man under the influence of narcotics
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 5:34 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 228 for a report of a male that was breaking things inside the residence and was coming down off methamphetamines. The male was contacted and determined to be under the influence and booked into the Madera County DOC for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Oakhurst assault
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 9:09 p.m. deputies responded to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a possible assault. A report was written.

Oakhurst methamphetamine
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 10:36 p.m. a deputy initiated and conducted a subject check on an individual in the 40000 block of CA-41. The subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, was arrested, issued a citation, then released. Forward to Madera County DA to pursue the charge.

North Fork domestic violence
On Thursday, Jan. 24 at 9:21 p.m. deputies responded regarding domestic violence. The dominant aggressor was identified and arrested.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Friday, Jan. 25 at 9:21 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 for an individual who was claiming to be assaulted, and was going blind from being hit and drugged. A deputy arrived and the the individual was placed on a mental health hold for being gravely disabled.

Oakhurst window broken and weed eater stolen
On Friday, Jan. 25 at 12:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 38000 block of Road 425B for a report of a burglary to a detached garage. The deputy arrived and learned that a window was broken and a weed eater was stolen sometime during the evening hours. A report was written.

Coarsegold possible narcotics found
On Saturday, Jan. 26 at 2:47 a.m. deputies responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding possible found narcotics. The possible narcotics were booked for destruction.

North Fork husband changes locks on wife
On Saturday, Jan. 26 at 12:56 p.m. deputies were dispatched for a report of a husband changing the locks on the residence while the wife left for the night. While deputies were on their way to the residence, several more calls were made to dispatch regarding the incident. A deputy was flagged down by one of the parties in the area of Road 221 and Road 226. Statements were obtained and a report was written.

Oakhurst domestic violence
On Saturday, Jan. 26 at 9:52 p.m. deputies responded regarding a physical fight in progress. The suspect was intoxicated and assaulted three of his family members, including a minor. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Madera Department of Corrections for booking. A crime report was forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
