Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through Feb. 17

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Feb. 11 to Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019.

Coarsegold domestic dispute, warrant arrest, narcotics
On Monday, Feb. 11 at 4:33 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in Coarsegold, regarding a report of a possible domestic dispute. During the investigation it was determined the disturbance was verbal only. A record check revealed the male had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. One warrant was issued from Merced County and the other was issued from Mendocino County. Mendocino County requested the male be booked at the Madera County Jail with the intention of extraditing the male to Mendocino County. During a search of the male’s person, incident to arrest, the male was found in possession of 1.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The male was transported to the Madera County Jail where he was booked into custody. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Coarsegold missing person found
On Monday, Feb. 11 at 6:35 a.m. deputies received a report of a missing elderly adult in the vicinity of the 46000 block of Lucky Lane. The missing subject was later located.

Oakhurst fraud investigation
On Monday, Feb. 11 at 12:48 p.m. deputies were dispatched for a report of a possible fraud investigation. Deputies contacted the reporting party and generated a report for future reference. Deputies were able to determine that there was no criminal act and the case was closed.

Oakhurst fraud investigation
On Monday, Feb. 11 at 1:32 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a phone report of possible fraud said to have occurred in the 49000 block of River Falls Lane. A report is was taken for documentation.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Monday, Feb. 11 at 5:19 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding a subject who appeared to be intoxicated and had blood all over him. Upon arrival it was determined the subject was under the influence of alcohol and had a minor laceration on his left had. It was further determined the subject was unable to care for himself due to his level of intoxication. After being checked by EMS, the subject was transported to Madera County DOC. Case to be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 11:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Highway 41 regarding the need for a mental health evaluation hold. A report was written, evidence obtained, and case closed.

Oakhurst assault involving a juvenile
On Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 10:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of School Road in regards to an assault call. A report was written and forwarded to Madera County Juvenile Hall for review.

Oakhurst theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 2:44 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a phone report of theft that occurred in the 48000 block of Victoria Lane. Case closed until a further lead develops.

North Fork missing juvenile
On Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 5:29 p.m. deputies responded to the 32000 block of Road 222 regarding a missing juvenile. The juvenile was entered into MUPS and a report was taken.

Oakhurst unlicensed driver cited
On Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 9:58 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic a stop in the area of Highway 41 and Highway 49 on a vehicle that didn’t have a license plate light. The driver of the vehicle was found to be unlicensed and arrested and issued a citation and released.

Oakhurst altercation and narcotics
On Thursday, Feb. 14 at 2:10 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 for a report of a physical fight between a male and a female. While deputies were checking the area a vehicle possibly related to the individuals was located. The two subjects were later arrested for possession of drugs and for sales of drugs. Both subjects were booked into the Madera DOC.

Oakhurst violation of restraining order
On Thursday, Feb. 14 at 10:23 a.m. a deputy contacted a subject at the 49000 block of Civic Circle. The subject was on parole and was restrained from the victim in a domestic violence case out of Fresno County. The victim was present and the subject was arrested. He was transported to MDOC where he was booked. Forward to Fresno County Parole for information. Refer to DA’s office for charges filed.

Coarsegold public intoxication
On Thursday, Feb. 14 at 12:41 p.m. deputies responded to the 43000 block of Trabuco Road for a family disturbance involving an individual who had been drinking. As deputies responded, a male was located lying on Trabuco Road about one quarter of a mile away from the residence. The individual contacted was involved in the family disturbance. The individual was arrested and booked for public intoxication.

Oakhurst parole violation
On Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7:25 p.m. deputies responded to the area near Highway 49 and Highway 41 regarding an intoxicated subject with children. The subject was contacted and found to be on active parole. The subject was in violation of his parole terms and placed under arrest at the request of his parole agent. The subject was booked into the Madera Department of Corrections.

O’Neals danger to self
On Friday, Feb. 15 at 9:56 a.m. a school resource deputy was advised by a school administrator in regards to an individual possible in need of a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was determined to be a danger to herself and a protective hold was placed.

Oakhurst traffic accident
On Friday, Feb. 15 at 8:04 p.m. a deputy was assisting a motorist by helping to install tire chains on their vehicle, located on Road 426 at Coyote Ridge. Another vehicle traveling on Road 426 attempted to go around the deputy’s patrol unit, and slid down into the rear of the patrol unit, resulting in minor damage to the patrol unit and major damage to the other vehicle. CHP was called for a traffic accident report.

Coarsegold convicted felon with access to weapons, mental health hold
On Saturday, Feb. 16 at 2:46 p.m. deputies responded for a report of a convicted felon with access to a shotgun who was having a psychotic episode. Deputies arrived and the individual was placed on a mental health hold. After the individual was transported the the hospital, the individual’s mother asked the deputies to help locate the shotgun. A shotgun and body armor were located in a backpack belonging to the individual. Once the individual is released from the mental health hold, he will be booked on multiple felony charges.

North Fork juvenile giving false information
On Saturday, Feb. 16 at 10:04 p.m. a deputy responded regarding a possible runaway juvenile. The juvenile was contacted at the location and provided a different person’s name and date of birth. The juvenile was confronted about providing false information and he attempted to slam the door on the deputy. The juvenile ran away and was caught after a short foot pursuit. The juvenile was transported to Madera and booked into Juvenile Hall.

Oakhurst vehicle citation and arrest for giving false name
On Sunday, Feb. 17 at 12:04 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Big Oak Flat Road and Hillsborough Lane for a vehicle with modified exhaust and no mud flaps. The female driver was arrested and issued a citation for giving a false name.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Sunday, Feb. 17 at 1:49 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and statements were obtained. Based on investigation subject was placed on a mental health hold and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Report written and closed.

North Fork threats to deputies, resisting arrest
On Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2:16 a.m. deputies were confronted by an intoxicated male in the 32000 block of Road 222 who was threatening to kill deputies while they were there investigating an unrelated issue. The male who was arrested had resisted, and had to be taken to the ground to be placed into custody. The male was booked into the Madera County DOC for felony and misdemeanor charges.

Oakhurst domestic disturbance
On Sunday, Feb. 17 at 5:25 a.m. deputies responded for a report of a domestic disturbance. During the investigation it was found that there were no criminal acts committed and a case was generated for future reference per the request of the reporting party. Case closed.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Sunday, Feb. 17 at 9:55 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 49 and Griffin Drive regarding a coroner’s report. A report was written, evidence was obtained, and the case forwarded to the Madera Sheriff’s Office Chief Coroner for review.
