Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through August 19

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Aug. 13, to Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018.

Oakhurst possession of controlled substance
On Monday, Aug. 13 at 2:17 a.m. a vehicle stop on Highway 41 resulted in the arrest and cited release of a local woman for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

Coarsegold theft of cell phone left on slot machine
On Monday, Aug. 13 at 12:08 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft of a cellular telephone. Deputies contacted the victim who stated she left her telephone on a slot machine and walked away on Aug. 11 at approximately 9:50 a.m. When the victim returned to the slot machine, her telephone was gone.

Coarsegold theft of wallet reported
On Monday, Aug. 13 at 1:41 p.m., while deputies were investigating a theft in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane, a theft of a wallet was reported to a deputy on scene.

Oakhurst motorcycle stop
On Monday, Aug. 13 at 1:36 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the area of Road 426 and Hangtree Lane. The driver of the motorcycle was found not to have a valid license and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The subject was issued a citation and promised to appear on the court date and then released.

Oakhurst warrant arrest, citation, release
On Monday, Aug. 13 at 10:47 p.m. a deputy contacted a male subject in the area of Road 426 and Highway 41. The male subject was found to have an active warrant out of Madera County. The male subject was placed under arrest and then released on scene with a citation. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Coarsegold disturbance, foot pursuit, weapon located
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 3:17 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a business in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to several intoxicated male subjects causing a disturbance. When deputies arrived on scene one of the subjects fled on foot. After a foot pursuit the subject was taken into custody. A loaded semi auto handgun along with ammunition was located on the subject’s person. The subject was booked into the Madera County Jail. A report was written and forwarded to the DA’s Office for prosecution.

Coarsegold disturbance, vehicle pursuit, burglary
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 3:17 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a business located on the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a report of intoxicated males causing a disturbance. This investigation resulted in one male attempting to flee on foot and being apprehended at the scene. Three other males fled the scene in a vehicle and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended on CA-41 north of the Lewis Creek Trail head in the suspects’ vehicle losing control and crashing (See Connected Case 18-3682). A wallet was found inside the suspects’ vehicle that did not belong to them. A deputy was able to locate and contact the owner of the wallet who advised his vehicle had been parked at the business on Lucky Lane and had been broken into. The wallet and cash were taken from his vehicle. During this investigation it was determined two other vehicles at the scene were also missing property. This case is still under investigation by this deputy.

Coarsegold domestic assault
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 9:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a domestic assault. Report written, evidence obtained and case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold warrants arrest
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 9:02 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Road 417 and encountered a female with two Madera County warrants. A report written and case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 12:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 38000 block of Highway 41 in regarding theft. A report was written and case closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 1:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 415 regarding fraud. Report written, evidence obtained, and case forwarded to detectives.

Oakhurst neighbor holding knife says he was attacked
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 2:46 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 39000 block of Road 428 regarding a male subject who approached a neighbor and advised the neighbor he was attacked. The neighbor observed the male subject with a knife behind his back and called law enforcement. Deputies arrived and contacted the male who claimed he was attacked and obtained his statement. Sierra Abundance arrived and
the victim refused medical attention.

O’Neals civil dispute includes tenant’s threat
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 8:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 26000 block of Butterfield Stage Place regarding a complaint of a trespassing. During the investigation it was determined no trespassing had occurred and that it was a civil dispute between the complainant and the tenant. The complainant (victim) telephoned the suspect once again and demanded he leave or she would remove him physically. The suspect replied to this by threatening to shoot victim. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Oakhurst citation and arrest
On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 11:03 p.m. a subject check at a business located on Road 426 in Oakhurst resulted in an arrest and citation for a local misdemeanor warrant.

O’Neals assault by a juvenile
On Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 7 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Road 200 regarding a possible battery. Deputies arrived on scene and arrested a male juvenile for misdemeanor battery.  He was booked into Madera Juvenile Hall with no further incident.

Oakhurst report of fraud
On Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 2:35 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation lobby regarding a report of fraud that occurred in the 41000 block of Pamela Place. A report was generated and this case will be closed.

Bass Lake boat accident
On Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 2:37 p.m. a deputy was flagged down on boat patrol at Bass Lake regarding a boating accident between two boats. EMS arrived to the scene. Forward to Division of Boating and Water Ways for information. Forward to the DA’s office for review of charges.

North Fork search and rescue
On Thursday, Aug. 16 at 1:40 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Road 4S81 above Lions Point for a 911 call of a lost person. A male had been hiking and had gotten lost. A search was initiated and the male was found unharmed on Road 8S11 at 10:30 p.m.

Coarsegold motor vehicle stop
On Thursday, Aug. 16 at 1:57 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on the 32000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a traffic violation. The driver was contacted and found to be driving on a suspended license and a warrant out of Mariposa County. He was cited on both and released.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, Aug. 16 at 4:07 p.m. a corporal was dispatched to Road 426 regarding a medical aid call. The female subject at scene was found to be intoxicated to the level where she was not able to care for herself. She was also a danger to herself after making suicidal statements. She was turned over to EMS personnel under a 72-hour mental health hold and transported to the Madera Community Hospital.

Ahwahnee property found
On Thursday, Aug. 16 at 6:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of road 628 in regards to found property. The owner of the property was located and property was returned. A report was written for documentation.

North Fork traffic stop
On Thursday, Aug. 16 at 9:01 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop at Rd 200 and Rd 222. The driver was cited on two warrants out of Madera County.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Friday, Aug. 17 at 5:42 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Highway 41 for a report of a male subject who was threatening to hang himself. The male was safely detained and transferred to an acute psychiatric facility for assessment and treatment.

Oakhurst narcotics
On Friday, Aug. 17 at 2:23 a.m. deputies were informed of a possible domestic incident on Civic Circle Drive. While deputies were searching the area, they located two subjects in the park. Deputies searched the subjects who were on probation and found controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Subject was cited on the drug charges.

Oakhurst assist SCCCD with uncooperative subject 
On Friday, Aug. 17 at 6:23 p.m. a deputy responded to assist SCCCD police with an uncooperative subject. The subject was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and booked without further incident. Report to be forwarded to the DA’s office.

Coarsegold assault
On Friday, Aug. 17 at 6:23 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 30000 block on N. Douglas Road for a report of a male assaulting two other males. An investigation was done and a report taken.

Oakhurst report of sexual assault
On Friday, Aug. 17 at 10:32 p.m. deputies responded to the 49000 block of Civic Circle Dr for a report of sexual assault. Through an investigation it was determined that the reports were false. A report was taken and forwarded to the DA’s office for review of possible crimes.

Coarsegold intoxication with attempt to drive, warrant arrest
On Saturday, Aug. 18 at 4:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding an intoxicated subject trying to leave the business in a vehicle. Upon arrival, the subject was contacted and found to have a warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested on the warrant and transported to jail.

Oakhurst theft
On Saturday, Aug. 18 at 10:44 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of OCB Mine Road regarding a theft that occurred in the 50000 block of School Road. A report was generated and this case will be closed.

Oakhurst report of trespassing results in arrest, homemade firearm
On Saturday, Aug. 18 at 11:47 a.m. a corporal was dispatched to the 50000 block of Hidden Falls Road regarding trespassers on the property. The subjects were contacted and initially provided false names. These subjects were ultimately positively identified and found to be wanted fugitives out of Madera County. The male subject attempted to conceal a homemade firearm when he was contacted. The weapon was recovered and the subjects were arrested. This report to be forwarded to the DA’s office for filing of the requested charges.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Sunday, Aug. 19 at 11:24 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a report of found narcotics. The narcotics were collected and booked for destruction at the Madera County Sheriffs Office Sub Station.
