Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through Aug. 5

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, July 30, to Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, July 30 at 9:31 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 28000 block of Hwy 41 regarding theft. Report written and case closed.

North Fork threats 
On Monday, July 30 at 11:03 a.m. deputies were dispatched regarding threats made to the landlord. Deputies arrived and received information that the individual who made the threats, left the property possibly armed with two firearms.

Oakhurst fatal accident
On Monday, July 30 at 1:15 p.m. deputies were dispatched to CA-49 and Griffin Drive regarding a head on traffic collision involving two vehicles. One subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Oakhurst public intoxication at the EZ Mart
On Monday, July 30 at 1:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 Block of CA-41 in response to an intoxicated individual. An individual was arrested and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for review of charges.

Coarsegold violation of restraining order, resisting
On Monday, July 30 at 5:44 p.m. a deputy responded to Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino for a violation of a restraining order. The subject was contacted and found to be in violation. He resisted the deputy and tried to walk off. An altercation ensued and the subject was brought under control, arrested, and booked in to DOC.

North Fork burglary
On Tuesday, July 31 at 7:46 a.m. a deputy was flagged down in the 33000 block of Road 228 for a report of a burglary that occurred the night before at North Fork Elementary. A witness located four subjects in the area. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Tuesday, July 31 at 8:16 a.m. deputies were dispatched to Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino regarding found narcotics. Deputies arrived [and] an amber-colored pill bottle was turned over containing an off-white colored powder substance.

Ahwahnee warrant arrest
On Tuesday, July 31 at 11:09 a.m. a deputy was patrolling the area of Road 600 and Road 619 and located a male subject with an outstanding warrant. Report written and case closed by arrest.

North Fork stolen vehicles recovered
On Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 8:29 a.m. while conducting a search warrant at a residence near the 49000 block of House Ranch Road, the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) team located two stolen vehicles. CHP was contacted and they responded for the stolen vehicle recovery. This report was generated for documentation purposes.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 6:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched for reports of a domestic disturbance. An investigation was done and one arrest made.

Oakhurst family disturbance and warrant arrest, citation
On Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 9:14 p.m. a deputy contacted a subject in regards to a family disturbance. A wants and warrants check reviled misdemeanor warrants. Subject was cited and released at scene.

Oakhurst found phone
On Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 8:50 p.m. a deputy responded to the 39000 block of Woodcrest Drive regarding a phone that was found. Phone was booked as found property. Case closed.

Ahwahnee coroner’s case
On Thursday, Aug. 2 at 6:51 a.m. a corporal was dispatched regarding an unresponsive adult female. It was determined the female passed away in her sleep and was a coroner’s case. A report was taken and the decedent was transported to the Madera County Morgue. This case is to remain open pending signing of a death certificate.

Oakhurst felony warrant arrest
On Thursday, Aug. 2 at 9:50 a.m. a corporal attempted to serve an active felony warrant in the 51000 block of Road 426. The subject was ultimately located and arrested. There are no on view charges being requested and this case may be closed.

Oakhurst attempted shoplifting
On Friday, Aug. 3 at 1:09 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 for an attempted shoplifting with an unknown suspect. No property was stolen. Report was requested for documentation.

Coarsegold report of burglary
On Friday, Aug. 3 at 8:45 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of CA-41 regarding a report of burglary. During the investigation it was determined the residence had been entered but nothing was taken. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst motor vehicle theft
On Saturday, Aug. 4 at 3:08 a.m. a deputy noticed headlights at a house that is vacant in the 38000 block of Hwy 41. While the deputy was driving up the driveway, deputy comes in contact with a vehicle heading down the driveway. Deputy stops this vehicle in the driveway, which comes back stolen. Driver of the vehicle is arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. Driver was booked into the Madera County jail.

Oakhurst suicide
On Saturday, Aug. 4 at 2:42 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a possible death. During the investigation it was determined the cause of death was due to suicide. Case to be forwarded to the coroner’s office.

Coarsegold lost wallet
On Saturday, Aug. 4 at 7:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a phone report regarding a wallet that was lost at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. A report was written for documentation. Case closed.

Coarsegold report of possible domestic disturbance
On Saturday, Aug. 4 at midnight a deputy responded to Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino for a report of possible domestic that occurred inside the hotel. A male subject was taken into custody and booked at Madera County Corrections.

Oakhurst assault
On Sunday, Aug. 5 at 9:10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Vista Heights Lane in Oakhurst regarding an aggravated assault. A report was written, evidence obtained, and case pending further investigation.

Oakhurst violation of a restraining order
On Sunday, Aug. 5 at 2:08 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a violation of a restraining order. A report was written and the case was closed.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Sunday, Aug. 5 at 1:51 p.m. deputies responded regarding a possible domestic disturbance. Deputies were told one of the involved parties swerved their vehicle towards the other while traveling down a roadway. A report was taken for documentation only.

Coarsegold burglary
On Sunday, Aug. 5 at 8:39 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located within the 46000 block of Chukchansi Road regarding a report of a burglary. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.
