Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through Apr. 14

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Apr. 8 to Sunday, Apr. 14, 2019.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Tuesday, April 9 at 5 p.m. deputies responded to a delayed coroner’s case that occurred at the 30000 block of Titan Drive. The primary physician is stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death and is a natural death case involving only a coroner’s referral number.

Oakhurst juvenile narcotics
On Wednesday, April 10 at 10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Indian Springs Road regarding a student who brought marijuana to school. The deputy arrived and spoke with school staff and the juvenile’s mother. Items were collected and a report was written.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Wednesday, April 10 at 2:59 p.m. deputies responded to Highway 41 for a report of an individual who had fallen down and had not moved for approximately 10 minutes. Deputies arrived and the individual refused medical attention. The individual was asked to leave the area but was unable to stand or walk because of pain from the fall. The individual was placed on a hold because he was unable to care for himself.

Oakhurst theft of lawn mower
On Wednesday, April 10 at 4:29 p.m. a deputy responded to the 49000 block of Road 426 for a report of a stolen lawn mower. A deputy arrived and a report was written. The next day, the individual contacted the deputy and stated her lawn mower was located and returned.

Coarsegold probation violation and narcotics
On Wednesday, April 10 at 8:47 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Road 415 and Penny Lane on a vehicle with expired registration. The female driver was found to be in possession of meth and was on felony probation. The female was booked into the Madera County DOC for violation of probation and possession of methamphetamine.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Thursday, April 11 at 2:27 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 47000 block of Hopi Avenue for a report of a physical altercation and that a female was requesting medical attention. It was determined that the female was assaulted by her new husband. A report was written a forwarded to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for filing of felony charges on the husband.

North Fork domestic disturbance
On Thursday, April 11 at 2:15 a.m. deputies responded to the 32000 block of Mission Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. A subject was arrested and booked into Madera DOC on domestic violence charges.

Oakhurst expired tags, stolen license plate
On Thursday, April 11 at 8:22 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the 40000 block of Westlake Drive on a vehicle with expired tags. The driver was on probation and the vehicle had a stolen license plate. The vehicle was towed. The driver was released at the scene. Refer to the DA’s office for charges filed.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, April 11 at 10:53 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a subject who had reportedly taken several pills. She was transported to the hospital under a mental health evaluation hold. Refer report closed.

North Fork missing person
On Thursday, April 11 at 3:03 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of Road 228 regarding a report of a missing person who is homeless. The subject was entered into missing and unidentified persons system. Case to be forwarded to detectives.

Ahwahnee verbal disturbance
On Thursday, April 11 at 5:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 58000 block of Road 601 regarding a verbal disturbance. The female had injuries, but denied anything happened. The male subject had an outstanding warrant out of Mariposa County. Forward to the DA’s office for review of charges.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Thursday, April 11 at 8:40 p.m. a deputy self-initiated a subject check on the 40000 block of CA-41. The male subject was cited for four misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County. Case cleared by arrest.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Thursday, April 11 at 9:01 p.m. deputies conducted a subject check of a pedestrian in a shopping center parking lot near the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 49. The subject was found to have four active misdemeanor warrants for their arrest. The subject was arrested and then released at the scene with citations to appear in a Madera Court.

Coarsegold expired registration and no license
On Thursday, April 11 at 9:52 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Road 417 and Highway 41 on a vehicle with no license plate and expired registration. The female driver was arrested and issued a citation for driving with out a license.

Oakhurst trespassing and narcotics
On Thursday, April 11 at 11 p.m. deputies responded to the 51000 block of Rusty Lane regarding a subject trespassing on the property. The subject was contacted and found to have an active warrant for his arrest. The subject was placed under arrest per the warrant. The subject’s property was searched and he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and hypodermic needles.

Oakhurst weapons violation, drug paraphernalia, outstanding felony warrant
On Friday, April 12 at 2:15 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 49 and Redbud Drive on a vehicle that did not have a license plate light. The male driver was arrested and booked for weapons violation, drug paraphernalia and an outstanding felony no bail warrant.

Coarsegold vehicle with expired tags towed, warrant arrest
On Friday, April 12 at 8:53 a.m. a deputy contacted a subject at Highway 41 and Road 417 in his vehicle that had expired tags as of 2018. The driver had an outstanding no bail misdemeanor warrant out of Fresno County. He was arrested and transported to MDOC. The vehicle was also towed.

Coarsegold employee making threats
On Friday, April 12 at 5:38 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a report of an employee making threats. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for review.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Friday, April 12 at 9:48 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Hogans Mountain Road where two subjects were contacted at the property and found to have outstanding warrants. The two subjects were booked into the Madera County DOC.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Saturday, April 13 at 3:59 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to 46000 block of Road 415 for a coroner’s report. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County Sheriffs Office Coroners Division.

Oakhurst vehicle stop, warrant arrest
On Saturday, April 13 at 12:32 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding a vehicle with no front plate. The driver was on probation and had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to MDOC without incident.

Oakhurst narcotics
On Saturday, April 13 at 12:32 p.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Highway 41 and Highway 49. A passenger inside the vehicle was searched and narcotics were located. The individual was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.

Coarsegold assault and violation of a restraining order
On Saturday, April 13 at 8:01 p.m. deputies responded to 31000 Apache Road regarding a violation of a restraining order. The suspect left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. A report was written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for filing of charges.

Coarsegold narcotics and felony warrant arrest
On Saturday, April 13 at 10:12 p.m. deputies responded to the 31000 block of Hogan’s Mountain Road in an attempt to arrest a wanted subject. Two persons were contacted in a vehicle on the property and found to be in possession of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia. Both persons were placed under arrest. One was released from the scene with a citation to appear in court. The other suspect was also found to have an active felony warrant and was subsequently transported to Madera Department of Corrections for booking. A crime report was completed and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Coarsegold assault
On Sunday, April 14 at 12:05 a.m. a deputy who was assigned to the casino overheard a female yelling and saw her throw something at another person. The deputy made contact with the female who stated it was only a verbal altercation with her boyfriend, whom she refused to identify. The female was released and surveillance footage was later viewed with her hitting and kicking the unnamed male. A report was taken.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Sunday, April 14 at 1:28 a.m. security personnel found some possible methamphetamine on the floor at the Firestone Bar at the casino and turned it over to the Madera County Sheriff’s department for later destruction. A report was taken and evidence booked in to be destroyed.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Sunday, April 14 at 8:32 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 in Oakhurst regarding vandalism. A report was taken, evidence was obtained and the case was closed.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Sunday, April 14 at 11:47 p.m. a deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a vandalism to a slot machine. A suspect was identified  and a report was taken. The case will be forwarded to detectives for review.
