Madera County Sheriff’s Log — Dec. 31 to Jan. 6

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from Madera County Sheriff’s Office reports taken locally from Dec. 31, 2019 to Jan. 6, 2020.

Oakhurst – Burglary

On Dec. 31 at 8:43 a.m., deputy dispatched to the 40000 block of Winding Way regarding a burglary to storage units. Report written, evidence obtained. Case to be suspended.

Bass Lake – General incident

On Dec. 31 at 2;24 p.m., cadet was dispatched to the 48000 Block of Liberty Drive regarding found property. Recommend case to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst – Fight

On Dec. 31 at 4:15 p.m., deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a physical fight between a male and a female. An investigation was conducted and statements obtained. Report forwarded to the DA’s office for misdemeanor charges.

North Fork – Aggravated assault

On Dec. 31 at 4:15 p.m., deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Saddleback Road regarding a missing person that was located. While contacting the missing person a Domestic Violence incident was reported that occurred on 12/27/2019 near the 50000 block of Road 200. An investigation was completed and a report was written, forward this case to Madera DA’s Office for review of charges filed and MCSO detectives for follow up.

Ahwahnee – Vandalism

On Jan. 1 at 10:45 a.m., deputies responded to the 45000 block of Sunrise Drive for a report of vandalism. An investigation was conducted and a report was written.

Coarsegold – Illegal trash dump

On Jan. 1 at 11:26 a.m., deputy dispatched to the 28000 block of Yosemite Springs Pkwy regarding an illegal trash dump. The suspect was located and informed to pickup the trash. No charges were requested at this time. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold – Theft

On Jan. 1 at 2:16 p.m., deputy dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft. Surveillance was obtained, however the suspect’s identity is unknown at this time. Case to be forwarded to detectives.

Ahwahnee – Vandalism

On Jan. 1 at 4:22 p.m., deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Peterson Creek Road regarding a vandalism report. An investigation was conducted and a report was written. Case closed due to no suspect leads.

Oakhurst – Vandalism

On Jan. 1 at 8:10 p.m., deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Peterson Creek Road for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. It was found that approximately $500 dollars of damage was done to the vehicle. Surveillance footage was collected and a report was written for documentation.

North Fork – Traffic stop

On Jan. 1 at 9:09 p.m., deputy attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Cascadel Drive and Mission Drive but the vehicle failed to stop for short distance. The female driver was contacted and there was found to be 4 juvenile children inside the vehicle. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County District Attorneys Office for filing of charges.

O’Neals – Weapons

On Jan. 2 at 7:32 a.m., the Madera County Sheriff’s POP Team conducted an investigation into a prohibited person being in possession of a firearm in the 50000 block of Road 200. A search warrant was served which led to firearms, ammunition, narcotics and narcotic equipment being seized. The prohibited person was arrested, transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections for multiple felony charges. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst – Danger to self

On Jan. 2 at 11:21 a.m., deputy dispatched to the 40000 block of Redbud Drive regarding a welfare check of a subject who was possibly suicidal. The patient was placed on a W&I 5150 hold and transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold – Outstanding warrant

On Jan 2 at 3:30 p.m., :deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop for expired registration in the area of Highway 41 and Road 200. The driver was found to have two outstanding misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County and was arrested, cited and released on scene.

Coarsegold – Drug, weapons arrest

On Jan. 2 at 5:00 p.m., deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Highway 41 and Yosemite Springs Parkway. An investigation was conducted and a female passenger was arrested for several outstanding felony warrants. The driver was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, and several other drug related charges. Both subjects were booked into MCDOC.

Oakhurst – Warrant arrest

On Jan. 2 at 9:35 p.m., deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Road 426 and Road 427 on a vehicle with no front license plate. The male driver was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male subject was arrested and issued a citation with a court date and released.

Coarsegold – Vandalism

On Jan. 3 at 2:06 a.m., deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Moccassin Court in regards to suspicious activity. An investigation was conducted and found a vandalism had occurred. No suspect leads and report was taken.

Oakhurst – Aggravated assault

On Jan. 3 at 10:30 a.m., deputy dispatched to the 43000 block of Crystal Springs Way regarding a domestic disturbance. An adult male was arrested and booked at the Madera County Jail for felony false imprisonment. Case to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Raymond – Simple assault

On Jan. 3 at 11:00 a.m., Deputy was dispatched to the 34000 blok of Road 600 for a welfare check after a third party received a text message about a possible domestic battery occurring at the residence the previous night. An investigation was completed and statements were obtained. Case to be forwarded to DA’s office.

North Fork – Coroner’s report

On Jan. 3 at 1:52 p.m., a delayed Coroner’s case was investigated that occurred at the 60000 block of Cascadel Dr. South. The primary physician is stipulating to the decedent’s cause of death. This is a natural death case involving only a Coroner’s referral number.

CoarsegoldDanger to self

On Jan. 3 at 4:08 p.m., deputy dispatched to the 46000 block of Spring Trail regarding a possible suicidal male juvenile. The juvenile/patient was placed on a W&I 5150 hold. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold – Danger to self

On Jan. 3 at 6:24 p.m., deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a subject wanting to harm themselves. The subject was placed on a seventy two hour hold and transported to a local hospital by EMS. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Oakhurst – Coroner report

On Jan. 3 at 6:27 p.m., deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 42000 block of Shady Lane regarding a Coroner case. Decedent appeared to have passed away of natural causes. A&R responded and picked up decedent. Statement was taken and report was written.

Oakhurst – Public intoxication, resisting arrest

On Jan. 3 at 10:39 p.m., deputies dispatched to the 40000 block of Redbud Drive regarding a suspicious person banging on doors to residences. Subject was located and arrested for being drunk in public and resisting arrest. Subject was booked at Madera DOC.

Coarsegold – Burglary

On Jan. 5 at 6:23 a.m., deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of Road 415 in regards to a burglary of a storage shed. An investigation was conducted and it would appear unknown suspects broke into the shed however did not remove any property. Case closed due to insufficient suspect leads.

Coarsegold – Violation of restraining order

On Jan. 5 at 4:00 p.m., deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Highway 41 regarding a violation of a domestic violence restraining order. Female was arrested and booked at Madera DOC for misdemeanor charges.

Ahwahnee – Danger to self

On Jan. 5 at 6:25 p.m., deputies responded to the 42000 block of Road 628 for a subject that was feeling suicidal. He was contacted and sent to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Oakhurst – Forgery

On Jan. 5 at 9:02 p.m., deputy responded to Road 426 and Hang Tree Lane area for a report of someone passing a counterfeit $100 bill for a personal transaction. The information was obtained and the case was forwarded to the POP team for follow up investigation.
