Madera County Sheriff’s Local Log Through July 8

MADERA COUNTY– Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, July 2 to Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Oakhurst vehicle stop, warrants and suspended license
On Monday, July 2 at 1:37 a.m. a vehicle stop on Highway 41 resulted in the arrest of a Coarsegold man for an outstanding warrant, as well as for driving with a suspended license. The subject was cited and released.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Monday, July 2 at 9:48 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Five Oaks Circle regarding a coroner’s report. The report was written, evidence obtained and case forwarded to Madera County Chief Coroner.

Bass Lake report of possibly sunken vessel
On Monday, July 2 at 9:41 a.m. a deputy responded to a cove on Bass Lake near the Lupine Campground regarding a possibly sunken vessel. The vessel had not sunk and there was no ecological issue to mitigate. The boat was removed from the lake under its own power.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, July 2 at 11:09 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 52000 block of Road 426 in regards to a theft report. A report was taken for documentation. Currently, there are no suspect(s), witnesses or investigative leads.

Oakhurst lost wallet results in illegal use of credit cards
On Monday, July 2 at 11″15 a.m. the victim reportedly lost his wallet in 40000 block of Hwy 49. Shortly thereafter the victims cards were being used illegally. A report was taken and forwarded to investigations.

Oakhurst assault
On Monday, July 2 at 3:43 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 48000 block of Victoria Lane for a report of an assault. A case was generated but no charges were filed due to the lack of suspect information. Case closed.

Coarsegold report of fraud
On Monday, July 2 at 3:53 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 36000 block of Mattie Fhy Court for a report of a fraud and unauthorized charges to a credit card. A report was written.

Coarsegold fraud
On Monday, July 2 at 5:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched by phone to the investigation of a possible fraud that occurred in the 33000 block of Comstock Circle. A report was taken for documentation.

Oakhurst unsafe left results in citation for suspended license
On Monday, July 2 at 5:45 p.m., while on routine patrol in a marked Sheriff’s patrol vehicle and in full uniform, a deputy noticed a male driving a green pickup truck make an unsafe left turn into a business parking lot located within the 40000 block of Westlake Drive. During the investigation, the driver was found to have been driving with a suspended driver’s license. The driver was issued a citation and released from custody. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

North Fork felony warrant arrest
On Monday, July 2 at 4:50 p.m. the Madera Sheriff’s POP Team conducted warrant services in the mountain division. During this operation a female subject was contacted due to her having a confirmed felony warrant out of Madera County. She was arrested, transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections for the warrant. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Tuesday, July 3 at 5:43 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Lindsay Lane for a report of person stating that the maintenance person was asking for his wallet. Deputies arrived on scene, and saw a female inside the residence was not breathing and unconscious. The deputy forced entry and determined that the subject inside was deceased. A report was written and wil be forwarded to Madera County Coroners Office for review

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Monday, July 2 at 9 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a domestic violence report. Upon arrival, the victim was contacted. A report was taken for documentation.

Coarsegold possible narcotics violation
On Monday, July 2 at 10:42 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a possible narcotics violation that occurred several days prior. A report was taken and will be forwarded to the Madera County Narcotics Enforcement Team for additional investigation.

Coarsegold vehicle stop results in vehicle being stored
On Wednesday, July 4 at 3:26 a.m. a vehicle stop in downtown Coarsegold resulted in a citation for driving without a license, and a vehicle being stored.

Coarsegold possible burglary
On Wednesday, July 4 at 6:40 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a possible burglary. Case should be closed at this time due to lack of leads.

Bass Lake driver arrested on warrant, vehicle stored
On Wednesday, July 4 at 1:01 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Road 432 cross of Blue Jay in Bass Lake which resulted in the driver being arrested and the vehicle towed. Close the case.

Bass Lake DUI arrest
On Wednesday, July 4 at 1:09 p.m. a deputy was on routine boat patrol on Bass Lake and observed various Harbors and Navigation violations on a ski boat. The operator of the boat failed various field sobriety tests and the preliminary alcohol screening device. Upon submitting to a portable evidential breath alcohol test, the driver was found to have a blood alcohol level above the legal limit for operating a vessel. The subject was arrested and booked at Madera Department of Corrections and charges are being filed.

Bass Lake dog bite
On Wednesday, July 4 at 5:01 p.m. a deputy was flagged down in the area of Crane Valley Rd/Willow Cove Ln in Bass Lake regarding a dog bite. All parties were contacted and a report was written. Forward a copy of this report to Madera County Animal Control for follow up.

Bass Lake domestic incident
On Wednesday, July 4 at 9:13 p.m. a deputy was flagged down regarding a domestic incident. The male subject was later arrested and an emergency order of protection was issued. Subject was later booked into Madera DOC.

Bass Lake domestic disturbance involving alcohol
On Wednesday, July 4 at 9:47 p.m. a deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the parking lot of The Pines Resort. The persons involved were a couple in a dating relationship from the County of Fresno. Both subjects were under the influence of alcohol and arrested. Charges to be filed with DA’s Offfice.

Oakhurst custody dispute
On Wednesday, July 4 at 9:45 p.m. deputies responded to a report of domestic violence. An investigation determined that no crime had occurred and it was a custody dispute. A report was written for documentation.

Deadwood Fire
On Wednesday, July 4 at 9:01 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a residential structure fire located on the 39000 block of CA-41. The residence was difficult to locate due the actual residence being located at the top of Deadwood Mountain. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed and no longer standing. A resident was located at the scene and unharmed.

Bass Lake public intoxication
On Wednesday, July 4 at 11:14 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Pine Slope Day Use area at Bass Lake regarding an intoxicated subject. The subject was contacted and arrested for being intoxicated in public and booked into jail. Forward the case to the Madera County DA for charges.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, July 4 at 11:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of River Park Road for a vehicle burglary. A report was taken and case closed due to lack of leads.

Oakhurst burglary
On Thursday, July 5 at 12:17 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a vehicle burglary. A report was taken and the case was closed due to lack of leads.

Coarsegold possible sexual assault
On Thursday, July 5 at 6:47 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block Lucky Lane in regards to a possible sexual assault case. Forward case to detectives for follow-up.

Oakhurst theft
On Thursday, July 5 at 9:39 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive regarding a theft that reportedly occurred at 40080 CA-49, two days prior. There were no suspect(s) or investigative leads in the case.

Oakhurst report of vandalism
On Thursday, July 5 at 10:54 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact the reporting party by phone in regards to a possible vandalism which occurred in the 40000 block of CA-41.

Oakhurst assault
On Thursday, July 5 at 1:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding an assault. An investigation was conducted and a male subject was arrested without incident. Forward to the Madera County District Attorney Office for charges.

Oakhurst lost property
On Thursday, July 5 at 11:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation regarding a report of lost property. Report for documentation purposes only.

Oakhurst possible domestic violence
On Thursday, July 5 at 12:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a possible domestic violence incident. Forward case to Madera County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, July 5 at 12:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a subject possibly in need of a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was determined to be a danger to himself and a protective hold was placed. Case is closed.

Raymond report of possible battery
On Thursday, July 5 at 2:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 600 in regards to a possible battery. Report for documentation purposes only.

Coarsegold motor vehicle stop results in warrant citation
On Friday, July 6 at 1:27 a.m. a deputy conducted a check on a vehicle parked at Road 415 and Jennifer Lane. The deputy contacted a male subject in the vehicle who had a warrant for his arrest. Male subject was cited on the warrant.

Oakhurst coroner’s case
On Friday, July 6 at 9:57 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 51000 block of Courtney Lane regarding a coroner’s case. This is an unexpected natural death. The decedent was transported to the Madera County Coroner’s office. The recommendation for this case is to be forwarded to the Coroner’s Office for further investigation.

Coarsegold burglary
On Friday, July 6 at 10:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive regarding a residential burglary that occurred at the 44000 block of Foxtail Road. There are no suspect(s) or investigative leads in this case. Report written for documentation purposes.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Friday, July 6 at 10:44 a.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a subject possibly in need of a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was determined to be a danger to herself and a protective hold was placed. Case is closed.

Oakhurst out of state possible sexual assault
On Friday, July 6 at 4:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a phone report regarding a possible sexual assault case that occurred outside of the state of California, but the victim lives in Madera County. Forward case to detectives for follow-up.

Oakhurst suspect departs during child welfare check
On Thursday, July 5 at 6:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a welfare check of a child. During the investigation, a male suspect leg bailed from the scene due to having two outstanding felony warrants. Case to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing a misdemeanor charge.

North Fork man in need of assistance
On Friday, July 6 at 8:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 for a welfare check on an elder male needing assistance. Upon arrival, it was determined the male was gravely disabled and transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Oakhurst deputy bitten during warrant arrest
On Friday, July 6 at 8:36 p.m. a deputy attempted to arrest a wanted subject with two felony warrants and four misdemeanor warrants in the 49000 block of Civic Circle Drive. While the deputy was attempting to arrest the male subject he resisted and fought with the deputy. During the resisting arrest, the subject bit the deputy on the left bicep. The subject was arrested and transported to Madera Community Hospital. The deputy was seen at a hospital and was released.

Coarsegold public intoxication and resisting arrest
On Saturday, July 7 at 1:55 a.m., while on routine patrol, a deputy stopped an apparently intoxicated subject in the 32000 block of Hwy 41. The subject refused to identify herself and actively resisted. The subject was arrested and booked for public intoxication, resisting arrest and multiple warrants.

Coarsegold found narcotics
On Saturday, July 7 at 4:34 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to found narcotics. A report was taken and narcotics booked for destruction.

Coarsegold found narcotics
On Saturday, July 7 at 5:51 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding found narcotics. The narcotics were seized and booked into the Oakhurst substation. Report written for documentation purposes.
