Madera County Sheriff’s Local Log Through July 15

MADERA COUNTY– Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, July 9 to Sunday, July 15, 2018.

Oakhurst vehicle stop results in arrest for possession
On Monday, July 9 at 3:30 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on a suspicious vehicle leaving a closed businesses located in the Enterprise Center. The driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and driving without a valid driver’s license. The driver was booked into the Madera County Jail and the vehicle was towed and stored. A report was written and forwarded to the DA’s Office for prosecution.

North Fork assault
On Monday, July 9 at 1:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 228 in regards to an assault investigation. Both parties were contacted and a report was taken.

Coarsegold welfare hold on minor
On Monday, July 9 at 1:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a welfare hold on a minor.

Oakhurst commercial burglary
On Monday, July 9 at 4:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Golden Oak Loop for a report of a theft from a business. A Lincoln welder and various hand tools were taken. A report was written for documentation.

Coarsegold missing child
On Monday, July 9 at 5:35 p.m. deputies responded to the 30000 block of Ca-41 for a report of a missing child. A report was generated and the case was closed.

Coarsegold public health call
On Monday, July 9 at 6:55 p.m. deputies responded to 50000 block of Road 400 for a report of public health call. Deputies arrived on scene and a report was generated for public health reasons. The case was closed and no further action was taken.

Coarsegold vehicle stop results in citation for warrants
On Tuesday, July 10 at 2:09 a.m. a vehicle stop on Highway 41 resulted in the cited arrest of a local man for three misdemeanor warrants.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Tuesday, July 10 at 3:16 a.m. a deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a theft report. A female subject was contacted during the investigation and she was found to have a felony warrant out of Kings County. The female was placed under arrest and booked into the Madera County Jail. A report was written and forwarded to the Kings County Superior Court.

Coarsegold vehicle stop results in arrest
On Tuesday, July 10 at 3:24 a.m. a vehicle stop on Highway 41 resulted in the arrest of a Fresno man for possession of a billy club, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools, and for driving with a suspended license. Case to be forwarded to the DA and to Fresno County Probation. Vehicle stored.

Proactive Traffic Stop By Deputy Results In Felony Arrest

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Tuesday, July 10 at 9:38 a.m. the Madera Sheriff POP Team was conducting a follow-up investigation in the Mountain Division. While in the 49000 block of Chapel Hill Drive, in the town of Oakhurst, a male subject was contacted who was found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Madera County. The male subject was arrested, cited and released on scene for the warrant. Case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold traffic stop results in arrest
On Tuesday, July 10 at 3:13 p.m. the Madera Sheriff POP Team was conducting a follow-up investigation in the Mountain Division. While traveling back to the valley, a traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle code violation. During the stop it was found that the driver was in possession of a large quantity of marijuana and a firearm, while also being a prohibited person from prior cases. The driver was arrested, transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections for multiple violations. The vehicle he was driving was towed. Case closed
by arrest.

Coarsegold suspicious phone calls
On Tuesday, July 10 at 4:09 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Patrick Avenue in regards to suspicious phone calls that were received. A report was taken and will be forwarded to detectives for additional investigation.

Oakhurst domestic disturbance
On Tuesday, July 10 at 4:22 p.m. deputies responded for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival it was found that no charges were being requested by either party at this time. A report was generated and the case was closed.

Coarsegold minor bitten by dog
On Tuesday, July 10 at 5:36 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a phone report of dog bite that occurred in the 33000 block of Highway 41. A 14-year-old juvenile was bitten on his left leg by a black pit bull, and was self-transported to the hospital for treatment. A report was written for documentation and forwarded to Madera County Animal Control for review.

Coarsegold missing juvenile found
On Tuesday, July 10 at 7:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of a runaway juvenile. During the investigation it was determined the juvenile, a 17-year-old female, jumped out of her mother’s vehicle at the intersection of CA-41 and Lucky Lane. The juvenile ray away in an unknown direction of travel. Efforts to locate the juvenile met with negative results. The juvenile was later entered into the Missing and Unidentified Persons System (MUPS). The female juvenile reportedly returned home in Fresno. Fresno Police Department was dispatched to the residence and confirmed the female juvenile was home and safe. The juvenile was later removed from the MUPS system. This case has been closed.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Wednesday, July 11 at 12:01 a.m. deputies responded in regards to a domestic violence report. An investigation was completed and a male adult was arrested for felony domestic battery. The male subject was transported and booked into the Madera County Jail. A report was written and forwarded to the DA’s Office for prosecution.

Coarsegold agency assist
On Wednesday, July 11 at 1:55 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a remote area of Road 420 in regards to an agency assist. Upon arrival, the suspect was contacted and provided a statement. Case to be forwarded to the California Highway Patrol – Oakhurst Division.

Oakhurst vandalism to school vehicles
On Wednesday, July 11 at 2:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of School Road for a report of a vandalism to a school vehicles. There were no suspect leads and a report was written for documentation.

Coarsegold suspicious found property
On Wednesday, July 11 at 7:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a report of suspicious found property. This case was written for documentation only and has been closed.

Coarsegold disturbance and arrest for parole violation
On Thursday, July 12 at 2:03 a.m. a deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. The male subject causing a disturbance was found to be on parole out of Madera County. The male was arrested for violating his parole terms and booked into the Madera County Jail. A report was written and forwarded to State Parole.

North Fork vandalism
On Thursday, July 12 at 8:52 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Best Western Hotel in Oakhurst regarding a vandalism that occurred in the 34000 block of Douglas Ranger Station in Northfork.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Thursday, July 12 at 12:11 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Civic Circle regarding the sighting of a local wanted person. The wanted person was located and arrested without incident.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Thursday, July 12 at 5:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Vetoll Road and Road 415 regarding a subject who has been living in a tent in the area. This has been an on-going problem with the same subject camping and trespassing in the area. The subject was arrested and booked on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Case to be closed.

Coarsegold vegetation fire, deputy injured
On Friday, July 13 a deputy drove up to a small brush fire in the area of Highway 41 and Rocky Cut. While attempting to extinguish the fire, a small explosion ensued and deputy had to get treated for minor injuries.

Ahwahnee investigation results in male felon’s transportation to Mariposa County
On Friday, July 13 at 6:54 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of CA-49 and Ahwahnee Acres Road regarding a wanted male felon from Mariposa County. The male felon was located in the area of CA-49 and Ahwahnee Hills working on a truck. During the investigation, it was discovered a female subject at the location had one active warrant for her arrest. A citation was issued and the female was released from custody. The male felon was later transported and turned over to the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office. Case closed.

Coarsegold report of alleged child abuse determined to be unfounded
On Friday, July 13 at 5 p.m. a deputy responded with Child Protective Services regarding alleged child abuse. The allegations were determined to be unfounded. A report was taken for documentation.

Coarsegold found property
On Friday, July 13 at 9:24 p.m. a deputy responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a report of found property. A report was taken and the property was booked at the Oakhurst Substation.

Oakhurst report of possible vandalism
On Saturday, July 14 at 6:50 p.m. a deputy responded to the 38000 block of CA-41 regarding possible vandalism to a vehicle. No crime could be determined. Report taken for documentation.

Ahwahnee domestic violence
On Saturday, July 14 at 7:34 p.m. deputies responded regarding a domestic violence incident. A male subject was arrested and booked at Madera DOC. An EPO was granted and served. Case forwarded to DA’s office for charges to be filed.

Oakhurst coroner’s report
On Sunday, July 15 at 8:08 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of Pamela Place in regards to a coroner’s investigation. Death appears to be from natural causes. Case forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Coroner.

Oakhurst runaway juvenile located
On Sunday, July 15 at 10:12 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Road 427 in regards to a runaway juvenile. Upon arrival, the reporting party was contacted. The 12-year-old child was located a short distance from the residence and returned home.

Coarsegold theft
On Sunday, July 15 at 4:32 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a phone report of theft of items from the 45000 block of Park Sierra Drive. There were no suspect leads and a report was written for documentation.

North Fork arrest following domestic dispute
On Sunday, July 15 at 6:03 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a possible domestic dispute. The male caller stated he had assaulted his wife and daughter. While en route to the scene the male called 911 again and advised the deputies to hurry or he would kill his family. Upon arrival the male stepped out of his residence and initially complied with directions. The male was unsteady on his feet and had a slurred speech. Once he was placed into handcuffs the male began to struggle to get away. Deputies used pain compliance techniques to control the male and place him into the patrol vehicle. Per the wife the male did not assault or threaten her or her daughter. The male was transported to the Madera County Jail and booked on related charges. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office.

Coarsegold coroner’s report
On Sunday, July 15 at 8:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 415 in regards to a coroner’s report. Case to be forwarded to the Coroner Division.
