MADERA COUNTY– Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Apr. 9 to Sunday, Apr. 15, 2018.
Oakhurst assault
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 3:32 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a telephonic call regarding an assault that occurred the Oakhurst area. The reporting was nurse at Saint Agnes Hospital who advised the victim arrived by ambulance and was refusing to answer any questions regarding the assault. Deputy spoke to the victim by phone and he was very vague and did not want to answer any questions regarding the incident. Report of incident was taken for documentation purposes and case was closed.
Coarsegold forgery
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 11:36 a.m. a deputy executed a search warrant service in response to recent mail box cluster thefts. Evidence was seized and a subject is in custody.
Oakhurst smoking marijuana in vehicle
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 11:58 a.m. a deputy made a consensual encounter with the subject at the 49000 block of Civic Circle who was attempting to smoke marijuana in his vehicle.
Coarsegold juvenile danger to self
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 3:14 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a juvenile male who made comments to end his life. A report was taken and a protective hold placed.
Coarsegold theft from store
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 4:11 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 417 regarding a theft from a store. No suspect info. A report was taken.
Coarsegold domestic violence restraining order violation
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 3:40 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Comstock Drive regarding threats made to a female by her boyfriend. The male half was found to be in violation of a served domestic violence restraining order and was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections without incident. The recommendation for this report is to be forwarded to the DA’s office for filing of the listed charges and to the Madera County Probation Office.
North Fork assault
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 7:07 p.m. a deputy was dispatched for a welfare check on a female subject who was possibly a victim of an assault. The female refused to provide a statement about the incident and was found to have injuries. A statement was provided from a witness who recounted a verbal argument between the female and a male subject but did not observe the assault. The female was triaged by EMS and a report of incident was taken and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.
Coarsegold sex crime
On Monday, Apr. 9 at 8:44 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a female who had been banned from the business and wanted to speak with a deputy. During the investigation it was determined the female (victim) had been contacted by an employee who works as a security officer at the business. The employee (suspect) escorted the victim to a secluded area of that business parking lot. He made sexual advances to her and exposed his penis to her. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.
Coarsegold suspicious person, suspect and deputy sustain injuries
On Tuesday, Apr. 10 at midnight, a deputy was dispatched to a suspicious person report in the 35000 block of CA 41 which resulted in an altercation in which the suspect and deputy sustained injuries. The suspect was arrested for Felony resisting an officer and booked into jail. Forward the case to the Madera County DA for charges.
Oakhurst burglary
On Tuesday, Apr. 10 at 2:17 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA 49 regarding a senor citizen shoplifter. During the investigation, a suspect was identified by the store owner. The suspect was seen on video surveillance stealing items inside the store. The suspect was later contacted, and the items were returned to the store owner. The store owner elected not pursue charges against the suspect. Report

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Tuesday, Apr. 10 at 5:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49 in regards to an intoxicated subject. The subject was located and found not able to care for himself and was arrested. The subject was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections. Forward to the Madera County District Attorney’s office for charges.
Coarsegold reported violation of restraining order
On Tuesday, Apr. 10 at 8:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a telephonic call regarding a violation of a restraining order. The reporting party could not provide proof of service to the restrained person. A report was taken for documentation purposes only, case closed.
Raymond burglary
On Wednesday, Apr. 11 at 9:39 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of Road 613 regarding a burglary. Report written and case closed.
Coarsegold juvenile held
On Wednesday, Apr. 11 at 9:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of Road 415 in regards to an out of control juvenile. Upon arrival, the student was contacted and held until his mother arrived.
Coarsegold vandalism
On Wednesday, Apr. 11 at 1:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Pony Express Lane in regards to a vandalism report. Currently, the suspect’s identity is not known.
North Fork Coroner’s case
On Thursday, Apr. 12 at 6:18 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 55000 block of Road 200 regarding a Coroner’s case. A report written and case forwarded to the Madera County Chief Coroner for review.
Coarsegold juvenile danger to self
On Thursday, Apr. 12 at 8:30 a.m. a deputy responded regarding an emotionally disturbed juvenile. The juvenile made threats to stab his sister. He was taken under a mental health evaluation hold to an acute facility. Case closed.
Coarsegold theft
On Thursday, Apr. 12 at 5:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding theft. A report was written and case forwarded to detectives.
Coarsegold danger to self
On Thursday, Apr. 12 at 5:48 p.m. a deputy responded to a 911 call regarding a possible disturbance. Through an investigation, it was determined that the subject causing the disturbance was a danger to himself or others due to a possible mental illness. Subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported by ambulance.
Coarsegold dogs causing disturbance
On Thursday, Apr. 12 at 9:39 p.m. a deputy responded to the 36000 block of Wells Road regarding dogs getting into a resident’s yard and causing a disturbance. A report was written for documentation.
Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, Apr. 12 at 9:29 p.m. a deputy responded for a report of a possible suicidal subject. The subject was interviewed and put on a mental health evaluation hold and sent for an evaluation.
Coarsegold theft
On Friday, Apr. 13 at 3:48 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a telephonic call of a report of stolen property. A report was taken and completed. Case Closed.
O’Neals juvenile makes threat at school
On Friday, Apr. 13 at 6:17 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Road 200 regarding a juvenile that made a threatening statement at a school. The school administrator was made aware and already handled the situation. This report is for documentation only. Case to be closed.
Coarsegold possible domestic disturbance
On Saturday, Apr. 14 at 1:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a possible domestic disturbance. This case is for documentation only Case to be closed.
Oakhurst burglary
On Saturday, Apr. 14 at 2:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Hwy 49 regarding check fraud. A report was written, evidence obtained, and case forwarded to detectives.
Coarsegold neighbor dispute
On Sunday, Apr. 15 at 8:38 a.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a neighbor dispute and threats. A report was taken. Close the case.
Coarsegold person reported missing
On Sunday, Apr. 15 at 1:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a missing person. A report taken. Nothing to point to foul play. Subjects info entered into the missing and unidentified persons system. Forward to detectives. Forward to CPS for review.
Oakhurst narcotics, stolen property, concealed weapons and burglary tools
On Sunday, Apr. 15 at 11:24 p.m. a deputy made a consensual encounter with two subjects walking in the dark along Road 426 and Hangtree Lane. Both subjects were arrested for various narcotics related charges, possession of stolen property, possession of concealed weapons, possession of burglary tools, and probation violations. The recommendation for this case is to be forwarded to the DA’s office for the filing of the listed charges.
