Madera County Sheriff’s Local Crime Log Through Nov. 6

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Oct. 31 to Sunday, Nov. 5, 2016:

Oakhurst recovered property
On Monday, Oct. 31 at 6:46 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 50000 block of School Road regarding a report of a white 2 door Toyota Tercel driving around the school. Dispatch advised that the reporting party noticed two suspects trying to gain access to the gates at the school. The vehicle was located at the 39000 block of Road 428. Suspect was located and arrested. Report taken, evidence obtained and case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst theft
On Monday, Oct. 31 at 7:59 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located in the 40000 block of CA-41 in regards to a theft. The victim was contacted and a statement obtained. The suspect was seen leaving the area with the stolen item. Attempts to locate the suspect by the sheriff’s office and the victim were unsuccessful. The suspect’s identity is unknown at this time. Case to be closed due to a lack of investigative leads and evidence.

Ahwahnee theft
On Monday, Oct. 31 at 8:14 a.m. a deputy responded to a report of a theft of surveillance cameras on the 42500 block of Highway 49. Cameras had been recovered earlier that morning during a traffic stop, in which the suspect had already been arrested on unrelated charges. Suspect identified, booked for grand theft and felony vandalism. Case forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office and closed by arrest.

North Fork domestic disturbance
On Monday, Oct. 31 at 1:12 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 32000 block of Road 222. Upon arrival, both subjects were contacted and statements were obtained. Both have minor injuries and conflicting statements. A criminal report was taken and will be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Oakhurst illegal camping
On Monday, Oct. 31 at 2:20 p.m. a deputy was on patrol in the area of the Fresno River upstream from Oak Creek Intermediate school. The deputy contacted a subject who had been warned of the trespassing and camping on private property. Subject was cited for camping on another person’s property.

Ahwahnee vandalism
On Monday, Oct. 31 at 8:52 p.m. a deputy was advised to telephone a female regarding a report of a vandalism and theft that occurred the previous day at a residence located within the 44000 block of Road 619. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 10:30 a.m. deputy was dispatched to a theft from a mail box cluster at the area of Road 400 at Yosemite Springs Parkway. A report was taken, and it was recommended to close the case.

Coarsegold vehicle impounded
On Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 12:12 p.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the area of SR-41 at the cross of Road 417 which resulted in the driver being cited and the vehicle stored for expired vehicle registration. Forward the case to the Madera County Superior Court for infractions.

North Fork domestic disturbance
On Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 1:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 31000 block of Mountain Lane North regarding a domestic disturbance. This incident is for documentation only. Case to be closed.

Bass Lake theft
On Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 11:39 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 40000 Road 274 regarding stolen checks. One of the checks was cashed at a grocery store in Auberry. At this time it is undetermined if the checks were actually stolen in Madera or Fresno County. Forwarded to detectives for follow up.

Coarsegold violation of protective order
On Wednesday, Nov. 2  at 3:30 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact a female reporting party/victim regarding a violation of a criminal protective order that occurred in the 46000 block of Oonay Nation Road in Coarsegold. The suspect’s location is unknown at this time. Due to being unable to locate the witness, the case is to be closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 4:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to contact a female victim by phone regarding a theft of mail that occurred in the 42000 block of Long Hollow Drive. There are no leads. Case is to be closed.

Oakhurst burglary
On Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 7:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Forest Service Road 6S24 and CA-41 regarding a burglary to a travel trailer. During the investigation it was found that several firearms had been stolen. Shoe and tire tracks were located at the scene however no arrests were made. This case is to remain open and be forwarded to detectives.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 8:27 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 28000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway regarding vandalism to a pickup. There was no evidence or leads. Case to be closed.

Bass Lake citation
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 2:34 p.m. a deputy self-initiated contact with a subject at a residence located at the block of 54000 Crane Valley regarding a follow up investigation. A subject was located in the front yard that had two misdemeanor warrants out of Mariposa County. He was cited and released.

Bass Lake warrants
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 2:34 p.m. a deputy contacted a subject at a residence located at the block of 54000 Crane Valley who had misdemeanor warrants and medication without a prescription. Refer to the District Attorney’s office for charges filed.

Coarsegold found property
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 46000 Paloma Road regarding a found wallet. Refer report closed as the owner was left a message to contact the Sheriff’s Department.

Oakhurst narcotics
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 8:37 p.m. deputies performed a traffic stop in the area of the 40000 block of CA-41 for registration violation. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of illegal narcotics and for having two confirmed misdemeanor warrants. This report is being sent to the District Attorney’s Office.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Thursday, Nov. 3 at 10:22 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 47000 block of Road 417 regarding a domestic disturbance. During the investigation a male was found to a misdemeanor warrant; he was cited and released at the scene. This case is to be closed.

Ahwahnee Coroner’s case
On Friday, Nov. 5 at 4:53 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of Back Road regarding a coroner case of a female subject. Report to be forwarded to the Chief deputy coroner.

On Saturday, Nov. 6 at 9:17 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to telephone a female regarding a report of a possible burglary to a residence located within the 42000 block of Scenic Drive in Oakhurst. This case has been suspended, pending investigative leads.
