Madera County Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Mar. 5

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Feb. 27 to Sunday, Mar. 5, 2017:

Oakhurst burglary
On Monday, Feb. 27 at 9:04 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of N. Oakview Drive regarding a report of stolen medication from the garage. Report taken and case closed due to a lack of evidence.

Coarsegold theft from school
On Monday, Feb. 27 at 9 a.m. the maintenance department at the school located at the 45000 Block of Road 415 reported a pump was stolen from campus over the February break. Report taken by the School Resource Deputy.

Ahwahnee warrant arrest
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 11:37 a.m. a deputy contacted a male subject in the area of Ca-49 and Crooks Mountain Road and the subject had a warrant out for his arrest. Report written and case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 2:45 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of Falcon Drive regarding an identity theft. Case forwarded to detectives.

Oakhurst mailboxes opened
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 8:25 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to Buckeye Road and Shady Lane regarding open community mailboxes. A report was taken and forwarded to the U.S postal service.

Oakhurst lost wallet
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 9:26 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of CA-41 and Road 426 for a minor traffic violation. Through the course of the stop the driver was arrested for a misdemeanor out-of-county warrant and miscellaneous drug charges. The driver was transported and booked into Madera Department of Corrections. Case forwarded to Madera County District Attorney’s Office. Case closed.

Oakhurst brandishing a firearm
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 9:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence located withing the 49000 block of Laurel Drive in Oakhurst regarding a report of the brandishing of a firearm. The incident had occurred earlier in the day at the intersection of Road 425A and Manzanita Road. The reporting party and the victim did not wish to seek prosecution, but wanted the incident documented. This case has been closed.

Oakhurst lost wallet
On Tuesday, Feb. 28 at midnight a deputy was dispatched via telephone regarding a lost wallet in the are of the 40000 block of Highway 41. A report was taken and the case was closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 7:29 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of John Muir Drive in regards to a vehicle burglary. A report was taken. Case closed.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 10:07 a.m. a deputy dispatched to the area of N. Dome Drive in regards to empty packages that had been discarded from a prior mail theft from mail box clusters in the Yosemite Lakes Park area. The packages were seized to be tested for latent prints. Suspend the case pending the outcome of the latent print processing. If suspect leads develop open the case and send to detectives.

Oakhurst motorcycle violations
On Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 10:11 a.m. a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle with expired plates that was coasting down CA-41 towards the Golden Chain Theater. The driver of the motorcycle did not have a motorcycle license or insurance. The VIN was not located on the street bike and we referred to CHP for vehicle identification. Refer report to the D.A’s office for charges filed.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 11:26 a.m. a deputy conducted a pedestrian check in the area of Road 417 at the cross of Quartz Mountain Road, which resulted in the subject being arrested and booked on an outstanding arrest warrant. Close the case.

North Fork burglary
On Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 6:01 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 34000 block of Wild Rose Lane regarding a residential burglary. There was no suspect(s) information and a report was taken.

Coarsegold juvenile danger to self
On Wednesday, Mar. 1 at 10:17 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 29000 block of Deer Trail Lane regarding a female juvenile who had overdosed on anti-depression medication. Upon arrival the juvenile was being treated by EMS and it was determined the juvenile had consumed four pills on purpose in an attempt to kill herself. The juvenile was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Coarsegold narcotics
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 2:10 a.m. a vehicle stop was conducted on Lucky Lane and CA-41. An investigation was conducted and drug paraphernalia was located. Two adult males were arrested for outstanding warrants and booked at the Madera County Department of Corrections. All evidence was collected and a report was written.

Oakhurst theft of gasoline
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 7:06 a.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 5000 block of Deer Meadow Way regarding theft of gasoline from a vehicle. An investigation was conducted and report written. Case closed due to lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst vehicle towed
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 8:30 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tags. The driver had a suspended California driver’s license and subsequently the vehicle was towed. The driver was cited and released.

North Fork warrant citation
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 9:03 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Road 222 / Road 200 which resulted in a passenger being cited on a misdemeanor arrest warrant.

Oakhurst warrant arrest
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 10:09 a.m. a subject was contacted at the Oakhurst Community Park who had an out-of-county no bail warrant, along with a warrant out of Madera County. He was arrested and transported to MDOC for booking. Refer report closed due to arrest.

North Fork vandalism
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 11:56 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 33000 block of Malum Ridge Road regarding a vandalize fence. A report was taken. No suspect leads. Close the case.

Coarsegold motor vehicle theft
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 12:59 p.m. a deputy responded to a dispatch call in the 31000 block of Road 416 regarding theft of an off-highway vehicle from a locked garage. An investigation was conducted and report written. Case closed due to lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst handgun
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 2:37 p.m. a deputy was contacted by a reporting party at the Oakhurst substation. The reporting party has power of attorney over an infirm subject and had located a handgun at the patient’s residence which is now vacant. The reporting party turned the handgun over to the Sheriff’s Department for safe keeping.

North Fork warrant citation
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 12:54 p.m. deputies contacted a subject in the area of Road 200 and Hadley Road, who had a outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was cited out and released. Close the case.

North Fork warrant arrest and transfer
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 12:54 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 58000 block of Road 225 for an attempt to pick up a warrant subject. Upon arrival the initial subject was not located, while another subject on the property was contacted and found to have two misdemeanor warrants out of Mariposa county. The subject was transported to Mariposa County line where he was turned over to Mariposa Deputies.

Oakhurst burglary
On Thursday, Mar. 2 at 5:19 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 29000 block of Highway 41 for a burglary report. A report was taken and the case was closed due to lack of evidentiary leads.

North Fork juvenile mental health hold
On Friday, Mar. 3 at 4:02 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 33000 Road 222 regarding a subject in the middle of the road, jumping up and down on cars, yelling and screaming. The subject was located and had been drinking. He was taken under at mental health evaluation hold. EMS arrived and transported the subject to the hospital. The deputy requested the report be forwarded to Madera County Juvenile Probation for charges filed.

North Fork narcotics
On Saturday, Mar. 4 at 1:48 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on Road 223 and Road 221 . An investigation was conducted. An adult male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, and outstanding warrants for his arrest. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

Coarsegold theft
On Saturday, Mar. 4 at 6:07 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a theft. A report was taken. Close the case.

Coarsegold assault
On Saturday, Mar. 4 at 9:37 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to an address in the 46000 block of Big Sandy Drive in regards to an assault. The victim wanted nothing done. A female was arrested and booked on an outstanding felony no bail arrest warrant.

Oakhurst stolen property and narcotics arrest
On Sunday, Mar. 5 at 3:48 p.m. deputies respond to a antique store on the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding some located stolen property. The property was originally stolen from a trailer in Coarsegold a few months prior. A subsequent vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of an Oakhurst area man for possession of stolen property, possession of a methamphetamine pipe, and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was stored.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Sunday, Mar. 5 at 9:06 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop for a minor vehicle equipment violation in the area of CA-41 and Road 200. During the stop it was found that the driver had an out of county misdemeanor warrant. The subject was transported and booked into Madera DOC. Case closed.
