MADERA — Madera County Economic Development Commission (MCEDC) is proud to announce and welcome Darren Rose as the Commission’s Executive Director. An experienced business leader, Darren Rose will succeed Bobby Kahn and assume responsibilities in October. After 20 years as Executive director, Bobby Kahn has retired.
Darren has worked in the field of public and government affairs for 24 years, notably serving as a district director for a Member of Congress where he worked extensively in Madera County and the Central Valley. In 2010, Darren founded a strategic communications and public affairs company called Rose Strategic Communications (RSC) that serves public agencies and private companies in California, Oregon, and Nevada. RSC has had the opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects and corporate communication projects throughout California.
“Darren Rose is the right leader for the EDC,” said Rob Poythress, Chairman of the EDC Board. “Rose’s extensive background and business development skills should help strengthen partnerships, develop strategic alliances, and expand Madera County business presence”
“I am honored and excited to serve the people of Madera County in this new role.” Said Darren Rose “I’ve spent the better part of 24 years working on economic development, agriculture, water, and infrastructure as a congressional staffer and consultant. My goal is to work closely with the members of our joint powers authority to assist our local businesses in expanding and to attract new opportunities for businesses to move here. I believe that Madera County is the future.”
As a founder of RSC Darren Rose has also worked on 45 political campaigns throughout the Valley and has also served as a Reserve Deputy for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office for five years.
Rose has master’s and bachelor’s degrees from California State University, Fresno, and completed executive education programs to further his knowledge.
