MADERA — As of July 30, the Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) is reporting the total number of positive test results for COVID-19 to be 1,886.
According to the MCDPH COVID-19 Dashboard, there are 835 active cases, with 44 Madera County residents hospitalized in Madera County hospitals. Of the 1,886 positive test results, 1,023 have recovered. 372 were contracted through person to person with 210 community spread. One was travel-related, and 1,303 are still under investigation. There have been 28 deaths, mostly associated with underlying health conditions.
Area D, which includes the Madera County Mountain Communities, is reporting 113 of the positive test results.
There have been a total of 17,957 tests results with 16,071 testing negative out of a population of 157,327 (2019 US Census Bureau.)
