COUNTY — Two local school districts are holding a common hiring fair on Thursday, Feb. 1, with a variety of positions said to be available in a number of areas. The event is free and open to the public.
Madera and Mariposa County School Districts, Charter Schools and County Offices are seeking to fill various positions including teacher, administrator, clerical staff, teacher assistants, custodians and bus drivers. Participating employers include Chawanakee Unified, Mariposa County Unified, and Yosemite Unified Districts, among others. See flyers below for a complete list of districts and positions.
Local colleges and universities will be present to provide information about degree and credential programs, say organizers, and CHP and Bus Driver Trainers will provide information about training and licensing for school bus drivers — needed now in the districts.
“We have a variety of employment opportunities all over Madera and Mariposa counties,” says Human Resources Coordinator Kristen Anderson.
“Six universities will have booths to promote their degree and credential programs. There will be a booth to sign up to be a substitute teacher and the CHP will have a booth with information about obtaining a bus driver’s license. It’s a great event!”
Registration online is appreciated, say organizers, and walk-ins are also welcome. Participants who register through Eventbrite will be emailed a list of openings the day before the job fair.
Business attire and a resume are recommended for the event at the Madera County Superintendent of Schools Conference Center, from 2 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1. The conference center is located at 1105 South Madera Avenue in Madera, CA 93637. For questions, please email: jobfair@mcsos.org
