Local Authors to Host Book Signing at Fresno Barnes and Noble

FRESNO — Two locals from the mountain area who recently published their book — “Wandering Off: Nature’s Notable Nourishments” — will host a book signing in Fresno at Barnes and Noble (the north end) on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m.

So if you missed authors Jeannie Harsha and Tricia Nickerson’s book signing at Branches Book Store in Oakhurst last November, please come and join them for this upcoming event in Fresno.

Books may be purchased locally at Branches Book Store and Hallmark in Oakhurst or click to buy online at Amazon.

Growing up in the mountains of southwestern Colorado, Jeannie O. Harsha learned, early on, how to be still enough to savor what she describes as the “hushed and gentle moments.” Poetry became, for her, a way of naming, celebrating, and sharing the small beauties found in such moments. In this collection of wonders, she pauses to notice a hawk on a fence post, a flock of wild turkeys on the run, the eye of a whale. She praises rainbow and moon phases that “move us and mend us.” And she offers her readers the gentle reminder the “love awaits the opening eye.”
– Peter Anderson, author of Heading Home: Field Notes

I am such a fan of Tricia Nickerson’s photography that I invited her to join me at my studio for our annual Art Trails. I am delighted that she paired her photographs with poetry, as her captures reflect a love and appreciation for the beauty of nature. Patience combined with the creativity of scanning through countless numbers of images, unveils a gem that is not realized until viewed. What you see in her final selections are glances of nature at its most splendid. Tricia shoots from the heart and shares her passion in her final images.
