Local Superheroes Welcome New Officers

OAKHURST — Family, friends and members of Soroptimist International of The Sierras attended the 50th Installation of Officers Event on Sunday, June 24, 2018 with an awesome Super Heroes theme at Oakhurst Grill in Oakhurst.

Installation officer was Soroptimist International of The Sierras 30 year member Cass Adelsbach, who explained the duties of each officer and the values that Soroptimist members can strive to achieve.

New board members are President Michele Shockley; President-elect Joelle Leder-Rule; Recording Secretary Heather Nocket; Corresponding Secretary Barbara Liss; Treasurer Lisa Nielson; Treasurer-elect Katherine Emerick; One year director Sandy Brinley; Two year director Dianne Abney; One year delegate Lori Prentice; Two year delegate Sandy Brinley; Alternate Delegate Dianne Abney.

2017-2018 Board Members were presented certificates from United States Congressman Tom McClintock, California Senator Tom Berryhill and Assemblymember Frank Bigelow and Madera County Supervisors including Chairman Tom Wheeler.

Soroptimist is “A global volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.”

Join our local service club by contacting Joelle Leder Rule.  Soroptimists meet monthly and several events each year for the community including Dream It Be It High School Girls Conference and Live Your Dream College Scholarships.
