Local Resource Conservation District Needs You

Written by Marcia Freedman —

A Resource Conservation District is a community-led special district organization that makes conservation happen! RCDs are good examples of strong local government, responsive and accountable to our communities to promote local conservation goals.

The Coarsegold RCD, for over 40 years, has been educating the public in resource conservation and enhancement methods and has provided technical, scientific, legal and professional assistance to public agencies, landowners, and communities in Eastern Madera County.

Our projects have included such things as cleaning up illegal trash dumps, fire hazard fuel reduction, wildlife habitat improvement, and landowner and youth education workshops, to name a few.

Now we are looking for new board members who feel passionate about resource conservation and who want to pass on their expertise and knowledge to the CRCD community.

For further information call Anne at 559-676-6737 or Jay at 559-283-1605, and check out our website at www.crcd.org
