MARIPOSA – The Mariposa County Arts Council invites the public to the opening reception recognizing the work of local painter, John Tomsick, and ceramic artist Phyllis Becker, on Thursday, Mar. 8, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Treetop Gallery located in historic downtown Mariposa.

Both Becker and Tomsick have deep ties to the Mariposa County Arts Council. In addition to being featured artists, Becker currently is an artist-in-residence in our Artists in the Schools Program and Tomsick served many years as an Arts Council board member.

In addition to Becker and Tomsick’s work, selected images will be on display from the Arts Council’s school program, Artists in the Schools – an 8-10 week visual arts residency program for all 5th graders in the county. Another Arts Council program will be featured, with works from SITE + VISION – our new visual literacy and field trip program for high school students.

This exhibition will run at the Treetop Gallery, 5009 Highway 140, from Mar. 8 through Apr. 22.
