Live Piano Concert At Oakhurst Library

OAKHURST – On Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m., Barbara Ulman will play a piano recital in the Oakhurst Library. She will perform music from the Baroque to the present, concentrating on short compositions with lyrical and romantic melodies.

Featured composers are Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven (including the well-known first movement of the “Moonlight” Sonata) Brahms, Chopin, Debussy (including “Clair de lune”), Tchaikovsky (“Barcarolle”), Grieg, Prokofiev, Bartok, Kabalevsky, and Ulman herself.

There is no charge for admission. Donations will be gratefully accepted to benefit Friends of the Oakhurst Branch Library (FOBL).

Barbara has been involved with FOBL since its inception, and served as president for a year. She has lived in the mountains for over 40 years, first in Oakhurst and now in Coarsegold. She has performed in many chamber music concerts in the mountain area; this is just her second solo piano recital.

The concert, about two hours long with an intermission, will be followed by a reception sponsored by FOBL.
