Letter To The Editor: McClintock’s Plan Doesn’t Work, Vote Jessica Morse

I listened to both candidates at the debate in Mariposa last Sunday, and I was very impressed with Jessica Morse. She is clearly looking forward with us from where we are, and focusing on the problems we need a partner in Washington to help us solve

She addressed the need for rural broadband, rural health care, and support for our schools and small businesses, and she supports allowing us to buy into Medicare before we reach 65 if we want to.

All I heard our career congressman say was that he wants to cut regulations and cut spending. We’ve all seen what cut regulations look like: unsafe water, polluted air, flash floods and landslides, and insurance companies that drop us like a rock if we actually have a claim or a health problem, and cut spending always seems to hurt us in the rural districts most in our health care and clinics, and in our schools, and with that approach we’ll never get decent internet or address the backlog of maintenance in our parks and forests.

I don’t want to see that movie again. I’m supporting Jessica Morse for Congress this year. I hope you will also. Thank You!
