Lawson Donates Labor for Habitat Home

MARIPOSA – Dave Lawson, Owner of Lawson Construction, has graciously donated more than five days of labor, valued at over $7,500, to the framing and construction of the latest Habitat for Humanity home in Mariposa County.

Over the course of 5 1/2 days, the Lawson Construction crew took the Habitat home from a flat slab foundation to a complete weathered-in shell.

This included framing, trusses, siding and roof sheeting, as well as installing the windows and doors.

This will be the third home completed by Habitat for Humanity in Mariposa County and will go to the Ehler family. Amanda Ehler and her two adorable children, Khalil, 8 and Ella Rosa, 6, are ecstatic about their new home and have been onsite participating and watching the build.

Dave Lawson and new homeowner Amanda Ehler with kids Ella Rosa and Khalil Lawson Construction has offered building services to Mariposa, Merced and Madera Counties and the Central Valley of California since 1981, and were excited for the opportunity to team up with their local Habitat for Humanity.

“I feel fortunate to have grown up in a small town and to be actively involved in the community.” says Dave Lawson. “It is an honor to be able to utilize our company’s skill set to help a local family achieve their dream of home ownership. It was a rewarding process to interact with the Ehler family and we hope they enjoy their new home for years to come.”

On the last day Lawson Construction was on the site, everyone held a celebration. All were invited to tour the home and write inspirational messages for the Ehler family on the beams of their new home. The beams will be covered up by drywall, but the positive messages will remain a part of the home forever.

Lawson Construction and Habitat for Humanity of Mariposa County are looking forward to seeing another family happily ensconced in their new home.
