COARSEGOLD – A Coarsegold family was driven from their home last night by a fire that destroyed much of the 3,000 sq. ft. structure.
At about 11:30 p.m., firefighters were called out to a home in the 45000 block of Windmill Road off Jennifer Lane.
The first unit at scene reported that the structure was 50 percent involved. Firefighters first made sure that the residents were out of the home and safe.
PG&E was dispatched to the scene for any danger from power lines, and the Red Cross responded to assist the family.
The homeowners had good defensible space around the structures, which assisted firefighters in stopping the spread into the surrounding vegetation and to nearby homes.
About 3/4 of the home was destroyed and the remainder suffered smoke and water damage.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
