Kiwanis Run For The Gold Classic Car Show

Kiwanis Run for the Gold 2016 SaturdayOAKHURST – Get ready to rev your engines as members of the Sierra Oakhurst Kiwanis Club welcome one and all to the 14th annual Run for the Gold classic car show preview at the Oakhurst Community Center this Friday night, followed by the main event car show on Saturday at Oakhurst Community Park.

The cost for registration of vehicles is $35. It’s free for the public to enter and check out the sweet rides. Click here to register.

The official action starts with a kick-off party at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night, Sept. 9, when pre-registration of cars is open and a “cruise-in,” is happening until 8 p.m. (earlier in the day there’s a cruise around town). Participants can enjoy delicious BBQ dinner for $15 per person at the door. That includes the sounds of a DJ playing rock ‘n roll classics, a raffle, special appearance by the Yosemite High School Badger Band, and a preview of some of the exceptional cars in the moto mix.

Saturday, Sept. 10, follows with an early morning cruise around town from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., then a full day of auto-admiration and family fun, plus food and vendors, music and more at Oakhurst Community Park. Registration is at 7 a.m. There’s a Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast and lunch will be available, as well. Before, during and after that, it’s all about the cars, including crafts, raffles, and good times.

Awards will be given out for Best Roadster, People’s Choice and Best of Show, along with first place plaques for each class and special award for Best Mopar.
