MOUNTAIN AREA – Are you ready for some softball? Online registration is now open for Yosemite Girls Softball League (YGSL), and all girls ages 5 – 15 are invited to participate. No experience is required and Opening Day is March 14 at Yosemite High School (YHS).
Interested players are encouraged to sign-up online at www.yosemitegirlssoftball.com. The cost for registration is $75 for the first child, with a sibling discount of $65, and the price includes a jersey with softball pants. Completion of the online paperwork by January 20 guarantees players the opportunity to attend a clinic focusing on fundamentals.
Players without access to the internet can contact YGSL to receive a printed form for completion.
YGSL practices usually take place twice a week and are scheduled to begin in mid-February, say organizers. Practices are expected to take place at the school the player attends. Games are played at various locations including Coarsegold, Yosemite Lakes Park recreation center, Oakhurst, Minarets, Mariposa, North Fork, and Madera Ranchos.
10-up and 8-up will be playing at YHS, Yosemite Lakes Park, North Fork, Mariposa and Madera Ranchos. 14-up and 12-up will be playing in the Central Valley Rec League. Games will be played at the Buchanan fields.
