OAKHURST – The Junction Fire is now 90% contained at 612 acres. Crews were demobilized throughout the day, returning to their units all over the state, or being reassigned to fires in other areas.
There are now 885 personnel assigned to the incident, with 45 engines, 29 fire crews, 9 water tenders and 5 dozers. There will be no helicopters over the fire tomorrow.
Incident Command Team 6 will turned the management of the fire back over to the local Cal Fire Unit tomorrow, and the Incident Command Post at the Bohna Arena in Coarsegold will come down as quickly and efficiently as it went up.
There is still work to be done, making sure hot spots are dead out, and continuing the repair work across the burn area.
