Joyful Classical At Free Sierra Foothill Concert

OAKHURST — Are you a classical music lover looking for a mindfully delicious way to get away from the weekend heat? Here’s the ticket, and it’s free.

On Sunday, June 10, a concert featuring local musicians will be presented at 2 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church. Sponsored jointly by the Sierra Foothill Composers’ Co-operative and Vision Academy of the Arts, the program features the music of Scarlatti, Dvorak, Fauré, Schubert, Pierné, Kuri-Aldana, Elgar, and Barbara Ulman.

The Sierra Foothill Composers’ Co-operative and Vision Academy of the Arts are dedicated to sharing the joys of music with friends and neighbors in the foothills.

Mountain area musicians performing at the Sierra Foothill Concert include Clyde Lansing, clarinet; Sandy Schaefer, flute; Barbara Ulman and Phil Youngholm, piano; and Cathy Walker, organ. Fresno musicians Kelvin Diaz Inoa, cello, and Tiffanie Trujillo, soprano voice, will round out the program.

There is no admission charge; donations will be accepted to cover costs.

Sierra Presbyterian Church is located at 39696 Hwy. 41 in Oakhurst.
