Jeffrey Bruce Harlan

jeffrey-bruce-harlanJeffrey Bruce Harlan passed away September 30, 2016, at the age of 66. He was born January 1, 1950 in Bakersfield, Calif., to Donald and Janet Harlan.

A long time Coarsegold, Calif., resident, Jeff was a retired commercial electrical designer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a decorated Vietnam War veteran. Jeff was also a Madera County Sheriff reserve deputy, search and rescue volunteer as well as a Coarsegold Fire Department volunteer. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and Past Master of Sierra Lodge #788 and of Libertas Lodge #466.

Jeff was an avid hunter, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and loved being a grandpa to his two grandchildren, Madeline and Michael Spane.

Jeff passed away doing one of the things he loved the most in the place he loved the most, hunting in Bridgeport, Calif.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Connie of 44 years; daughters Sara Spane (David) of Parker, Colo.; Jaime Harlan of Fresno, Calif.; granddaughter Madeline Ann Spane and grandson, Michael Jeffrey Spane; parents Donald and Janet Harlan of Coarsegold, Calif; Sisters Sue Murray (Jeff) of Oakhurst, Calif., and Christine Tomazin (Mark) of Bishop, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge #788 in Oakhurst, Calif.
