The incident occurred about 9:15 a.m. in the parking lot of La Cabana restaurant, which was closed at the time.

Local firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze but the vehicle was a total loss.

The driver told first responders that he was going north on Road 200 when he lost his brakes and power steering.

When he maneuvered the vehicle into the restaurant parking lot, stopped and opened the hood, the engine burst into flames.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities on scene Sunday morning said that the incident remains under investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the fire.
