AHWAHNEE – The Oakhurst chapter of nonprofit organization Helping One Woman (HOW) will meet to honor local new mom and Coarsegold resident Jennifer (Jenna) See at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Hitching Post in Ahwahnee.
“2015 was a tough year for Jenna,” say HOW organizers, including sponsor Kristen Bateman. “Early in her pregnancy Jenna lost her job. Not long after, her brother passed suddenly. This December she lost her mother as well.”
The bright spot for Jenna, 23, and fiance Michael has been the birth of a beautiful baby girl last October. Not long after she was born Michael, also 23, their sole source of income, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and out of work for several weeks.
“Jenna and her new little family could use some extra love, especially this time of year. Please join us and help us kick off her 2016 right.”
Those participating in the HOW benefit dinner place $10 or more toward a contribution for January’s guest of honor, Jenna, and pay for their own dinners. RSVP to the Hitching Post (559) 683-7917.
Anyone with a raffle item to donate before the dinner can drop it off at Steve’s Pet Shop in Oakhurst or call Kristen at (559) 760-9489.
