It’s Time! Yosemite’s Glacier Point Road Reopens

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK–Yosemite National Park Officials are announcing that Glacier Point Road has opened for the season. They have included that Four Mile Trail remains closed. Visitors should know that all the trails leaving from Glacier Point Road are still snowy.

Hikers should have the right gear for all weather conditions. They should also prepare for route finding, including cross-country navigation using GPS, and backup navigation using a map and compass.

For current road and trail updates check the website here.

Drinking water is not yet available at Glacier Point, but vault toilets are open.

Be advised that on Saturdays and Sundays, you must have a reservation to enter the park. These can be obtained from Recreation.Gov. The alternative is to enter the park before 5 am or after 4 pm. Be aware that Yosemite can be crowded, even during weekdays and parking will be at a premium (or non-existent) after about 9 am. Research before you travel to plan your best options.
