It’s The Bee’s Knees: Wasuma Roaring Twenties Golf Fundraiser

AHWAHNEE — The Wasuma PTA invites the community to an exciting throwback fundraiser in hopes that everyone will come out and support local students while having a blast in true old-fashioned style.

It’s the Wasuma PTA Roaring Twenties Golf Fundraiser at beautiful River Creek Golf Course in Ahwahnee, set for Saturday, Mar. 23, starting at 1 p.m.

The cost to enter is $60 per player, which includes appetizers, balls, tees, and play. Participants will be grouped in teams of four. Payment is required in advance, and all proceeds from the event go to Wasuma PTA to fund children’s education and activities.

River Creek owners Scott and Jennifer Michel are also Wasuma parents, and active volunteers with the school and community.

“We are super excited about this event, as it tends to be our biggest one of the year,” says Jennifer Michel, who reveals, “and we have a lot of great raffle prizes!”

Prizes include tickets to the Winchester Mystery House, Grizzlies games and Disneyland, a Mint Condition salon mega-basket, American Girl dolls and a trip to Tenaya. Make sure to dress in your best roaring twenties outfits, because there’s a prize for best dressed.

The fun starts with noshes and raffles at 1 p.m. and rules will be announced at 1:45 p.m. At 2 p.m. there’s a 9-hole scramble start.

Sponsors include Sierra TelWalt Bannon Drilling, Southgate Brewing Co., Lehman’s Locksmithing, Reden Properties, and Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital.

There are still teams available, however, space is limited. Reserve your spot today by contacting Jennifer Michel at jmellis11@gmail.com or (559) 676-7681.

The Wasuma PTA meets the second Tuesday of every month.
