COARSEGOLD – Preparations for the 61st annual Coarsegold Rodeo have begun, with Royalty Orientation on Feb. 23.
Twenty ladies interested in vying for the titles of Miss Coarsegold Rodeo Queen, Princess and Little Princess came out to the Historical Museum to sign up for this year’s event.“What a great turnout,” said Royalty Coordinator Kathy Gould. “Each year seems to bring out more ladies. It was standing room only at the old schoolhouse, and most parents even had to wait outside!”
Each year the Rodeo offers these three titles and the titleholders go on to represent Coarsegold Rodeo at other rodeos and events throughout the year.
The Coarsegold Rodeo is held each year the first weekend in May, and features two days packed with Pro Rodeo excitement, plus Cowboy Breakfast, Cowboy Church, the Rodeo Dance and the always popular Kids’ Mutton Bustin’.
