Escaped Inmate Captured After Tip From Citizen

MADERA COUNTY – A Coarsegold man was back behind bars about three-and-a-half hours after escaping from the Madera County Department of Corrections.

Bryan Parry King, 47, was reportedly working in the facility’s kitchen area yesterday, when he went to take the trash out and jumped the fence.

Madera County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended him in Courthouse Park around 10 p.m.

Sheriff John Anderson credits a tip phoned in to the Sheriff’s Office by a citizen after the incident was posted on the department’s Facebook page.

King is being held on narcotics and weapons charges.
