Injury Accident On Road 425B

OAKHURST – Two Oakhurst residents were transported to the hospital yesterday after a rollover accident on Road 425B in Oakhurst.

Stacey Vogel, 20, of Oakhurst, was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion westbound on Road 425B at 2:08 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at what was described by CHP Officer Dominici as “an unsafe speed for the narrow and curved roadway.”As she rounded a corner, cutting across the center line and moving into the left lane of oncoming traffic, she saw a Madera County Probation Department vehicle headed toward her in the eastbound lane, according to the CHP.

In an effort to avoid a collision, Vogel hit the brakes and steered to the right, but due to her excessive speed, her car plunged off the roadway and rolled several times, eventually coming to rest on its roof.

Vogel was transported to St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, along with Kody Perrien, 19, who was a passenger in the car.

Two other passengers suffered only minor injuries; one was a 2-year-old toddler and another a 17-year-old resident of Oakhurst. Their names are not being published due to the fact that they are both minors.
