MADERA COUNTY – A bizarre case of found property, and perhaps a bit of cattle rustling, is causing a bit of confusion in Coarsegold.
The Sheriff’s Office is reporting that someone barreled through a cattleman’s barbed wire fence, and instead of stealing anything, they apparently left behind a bull, that has yet to be identified. The landowner discovered his fence was down on Monday and spotted the animal. When he tried to get close enough to look for a livestock brand, the bull took off running.
It’s still roaming the ranch, and the ranch owner would like to find the male bovine’s rightful owner.
Anyone missing a bull, or who may have information about someone crashing through a fence on Longview Lane in Coarsegold, is asked to call the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770.
