OAKHURST – Organizers behind the Relay for Life of Eastern Madera County are planning a fundraising parking lot sale for Saturday, Apr. 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Oakhurst Medical Group parking lot located at the corner of Highway 41 and Junction Drive.
“We’re not selling the parking lot, but we will have tables of treasures collected by several of our teams for your buying pleasure,” say team leaders behind the event. “We’ll also have baked goods, raffle tickets for sale, and who knows what else we’ll come up with?”All proceeds will go towards each Relay for Life Team fundraising goal to benefit the American Cancer Society and cancer patient services in Eastern Madera County.
Each year, more than 4 million people worldwide take part in Relay for Life, helping to raise funds and awareness, and save lives.
Victims and survivors of cancer and their families are celebrated, remembered, honored, and the Fight Back Ceremony inspires Relay participants to take tangible action against a disease that has taken too much.
Traditionally, the Eastern Madera County Relay for Life raises record amounts of money, per capita. Last year, nearly $63,000 was raised at Wasuma Elementary School in Ahwahnee, where the event takes place.
